Wandsworth Mayor and Northcote Lodge BoysWandsworth Town Hall

Thirty-four boys from Northcote Lodge who all took part in the illuminated letters book went to Wandsworth Town Hall to present a signed copy to the Mayor on Monday 16 May. We arrived there at 14.24. Once we climbed the stairs, the Mayor’s secretary greeted us. She showed us to the Mayor’s office and there we met Cllr Nardelli. After a handshake we all presented her with the book. Then we took time to ask questions and had some photos taken.

We had a chance to carry the silver mace that was very, very heavy. This was followed by a quick snack before the Mayor showed us the Chamber Room where all the decisions are made.

Northcote Lodge EU Debate!

We thought that it would be fun to have a quick debate on whether Britain should leave the EU. After a very good debate the votes were carried thirteen to stay and six to leave. After a fantastic time at the town hall we all made it back to school in time for tea. We raised £200 from sales of the book in aid of Cllr Nardelli’s chosen charity, which is The Wandsworth Dyslexic Association.

Thank you Mrs Burnyeat from all the boys at Northcote Lodge for an amazing day.
