The weekend we’ve been waiting for is almost here!  ‘Tis time to turn on the twinkly lights of Northcote Road, in the very heart of Nappy Valley. Gather one and all for the festivities on Friday afternoon and then gather once more for the Christmas Market on Sunday.  Ooh, I can smell the mulled wine from here.  In fact, the streets are awash with it, there’s just so much Christmas out there! (read more).

St Mary with St Alban Christmas Bazaar is on in Teddington this weekend with talk of children’s activities, a hog roast and…mulled wine (read more).

And Crafts at Christmas is on at The Church of the Holy Spirit just off Abbeville Road including handmade jewellery, decorations, bunting, cards and prints (read more).

The Telferscot Primary School Christmas Fair will have slime and dinosaur excavations, reindeer food and unicorn snot (the children are going to love it!) plus fabulous raffle prizes including lunch at The Dorchester! (read more)

And The Rutherford House Christmas Fair this year includes Santa’s grotto and a snow zone – love it!  Dress for the slopes! (read more)

Join Paul’s Cancer Support Centre for their carol concert in Putney, The Spirit of Christmas, with music and readings and singing from the Fulham Camerata choir (read more).

The Greenwich Wintertime Festival opens at The Old Royal Navy College at the beginning of December, with an ice rink, winter market, live entertainment and Father Christmas (busy guy) (read more).

Visit Santa’s grotto at The Holy Trinity Church Christmas Fair in Wimbledon including a Christmas raffle and games for all the family (read more).

The Fircroft Primary School Christmas Fair has all the usual fun of the fair plus a possibly much-needed Pamper Zone! (read more)

And it’s Balham’s turn to flick the switch on their Christmas lights at the Christmas Lights Celebration & Switch On at Bedford Hill Place and Hildreth Street in early December, with family entertainment from one o’clock and lights on just after dark (read more).


From film to food and fitness to first aid 

Cine Mini and ourscreen present the very brilliant Home Alone at the Clapham Picturehouse soon.  Such a great movie and the one I first remember the children literally falling off the sofa in fits of giggles over!  Go join in on the fun or try your hand at winning a family ticket right here (read more).

If you fancy getting fit in the fresh air then bring a friend or a dog, a workout mat and water and head to Tooting Common for a regular Outdoor Hit Class – just 45 minutes and feel the endorphins roll…(read more).
