We make more space…

4At Great Little Trading Co. we are parents ourselves. We get it.

We understand that you’ve spent all day with your children, the house is a mess, there are toys all over the floor and breakfast over the kitchen walls. We understand that come the evening, when you’ve put the children to bed, that it’s your time. You want to sit down and relax with a glass of wine, in the beautiful home that you spent time creating before children came along.

This is where we come in.

At Great Little Trading Co. we’ve made a promise, and this promise is at the heart of everything we do. We promise to make more space in family homes.

We understand that as much as we love our children and the joy they bring to us; we also pine for those pre-children days, where our homes were less cluttered.  So, GLTC have set out to create a range of smart, practical and beautiful storage solutions to help make parenthood easier and childhood even better.

We design all of our storage at GLTC HQ in Wandsworth, and our entire range of storage solutions follows three important criteria.

Design is important. Yes it’s to store away toys, but garish colours and impractical designs shouldn’t be a compromise just because it’s for toys. Toys should be easily accessible for children, storage quick to pull out and put away for speedier tidying, and also compliment your home. Our Ottomon Toy Box is a great example of classic GLTC design, with safety hinges to protect little fingers; it’s toddler height and doubles up as seats too. We’ve designed it in two colours, grey and white stars for a subtlety and navy and white stars for a bit of fun.

Every family is different and we all have different needs. That’s why it’s important to us to design versatile products that can adapt to your changing needs, especially as your children grow. That means they also need to withstand the test of time.

Our Clifton Toy Organiser is a particular design we’re proud of at GLTC HQ. The discreet white and birch colours will blend into the background and it’s a great multi-tasker. It’s easy for children to grab their stash of toys, which have been perfectly organised in the handy compartments. Also it could be used in the nursery, for one-handed access to nappies, creams and wipes. Later on when the children are older it can be re-purposed for homework or craft stuff or used in the hallway for shoes, gloves, and the dog lead. Then when the kids have left home, you can move it down to the utility room and it can be used for all your household paraphernalia or tools! It looks good, it’s simple and it’s made to last.

GLTC products are pieces that will be used day in, day out in your homes. They are a part of your every day life. Therefore it’s important that they are sturdy and built to last. In an age of disposable throw away products, we understand that parents struggle to find quality products that will stand the test of time.

So our homegrown storage does just that, with Abbeville Storage Furniture and Northcote Modular Storage. Both made from solid MDF wood and a durable paint finish, you can be sure there will be no bowing, tipping or cracking. We also provide anti-tip furniture straps too for extra safety.

You can now put our storage to the parent’s “wobble test” in our new Wandsworth Showroom, where you’ll find our range on display ready to be put to the test!
