Welcome to your weekly What’s On activity guide from NappyValleyNet!

School’s out for summer (almost)!  By now pretty much everyone is pretty much there. Kick back, relax and enjoy some time out, if only for a while.  Perhaps you’re already far from here, sunning yourself on some peaceful outcrop over clear blue seas, under clear blue skies.  If so, mine’s a Pina Colada (complete with cocktail umbrella)!  Have fun, and if the need for ideas and inspiration should arise, we’re always on hand with bucket (and spade) loads of it (read more).

Amanda’s Action Club is holding Monday and Thursday Play, Flip & Bounce sessions at Flip Out Wandsworth involving music and bouncing (read more).

Role Models Special Needs Camps get underway next week with venues in Southfields, Richmond and Regent’s Park (read more).

Cartwheel your way to The Little Gym Summer Camps which flick-flack into action next week offering 3 hour drop-in sessions for 3 to 12 year olds (read more).

On your marks, get set, go… to the Summer Startrack Athletics run by Herne Hill Harriers at the Tooting Bec Athletics track.  Learn how to run, jump and throw like a legend from qualified coaches (read more).

Football at Burntwood is on again from next week for children from 4 up to 11 to improve their skills at the beautiful game (read more).

Join the Yellowbird Education Creative Writing Workshops and your 6 to 12 year old will be snapping at the coat-tails of the likes of Lauren Child and Michael Morpurgo (read more).

At Revealed – Artefacts at Wandsworth Town Library, you’ll see what pre-historic finds have been made in our local Wandle Valley – take your own garden archaeological finds with you to see what history you’ve unearthed! (read more)

Junior Golf Summer Camps are already underway at the Central London Golf Centreon Burntwood Lane. Why not try something new – go get in the swing! (read more)

Let’s Act will be putting on a show from not one, but two popular musicals by the end of their week of singing, dancing and acting (read more).

Zoolab is coming to Wandsworth Town Library with their collection of exotic animals like the Giant African Land Snail, American Corn Snake, a tarantula (ugh) and a Fire-Bellied Toad. Not sure I’m woman-enough! (read more).

The Butterfly Pre-School Summer Camps include Judy Murray’s ‘Set 4 Sport’ programme with water games, orienteering, den building, t-shirt decorating and more (read more).


For really quite big ones…

Although for little ones aged 7 and up too, your older children might really like this one.  The Train Station are running an Emerging Athlete Summer Programme with sessions for 12-15 and 16-18 year olds (read more).

The Duke of Edinburgh Residential Course is run by The Avenue Cookery School   five days of learning a basic life skill and taking it even further by cooking up a storm! (read more)

Bonas MacFarlane have a variety of summer workshops and sessions on offer with Admission Tests Preparation Courses for those applying for Oxbridge or to read Medicine and Law (read more).

DLD College Westminster are running their Academic Summer Fun & Learning Camps for 13 to 18 year olds, with work on GCSE, A Level and IB curriculum as well as great trips both inside and outside London. Residential and day places (read more).

Older children would absolutely love the chance to go on a Camp Suisse adventure up in the Swiss Alps, with swimming in Lake Geneva and sledding behind huskies up on a glacier on the ‘to do’ list. Plus plenty of socialising and brushing up on language skills (read more).


For the grown-ups …

First Aid for Life are running one of the full day, Ofsted approved, Paediatric First Aidcourses in Balham.  Could be the best thing you ever did with your time (read more).

This Sunday First Aid For Life are running a first aid course specifically for dogs. Learn how to help your dog in those vital minutes if they are involved in a medical emergency (read more).

Lingerie and swimwear specialist Amelie’s Follies‘ summer sale is now on, with a minimum of 30% discount on sales lines across the store (read more).

Head to Clapham Old Town on Sunday to admire what can be packed into a small north-facing garden where SW4 meets Jamaica, part of the NGS Open Gardens with all money raised from the small entrance fee (kids go free) going to several charities (read more).

Or go and join in on 50 sun salutations in Yogathon for You over in Hampton Court, another fundraiser with lots of lovely yoga me-time built in (read more).
