A pinch and a punch…so I’m a day late but I can’t believe it’s August already; the holidays are whizzing by. Maybe you can’t keep up, or maybe you’re counting the days until you get a break, be it time off work at home, a staycation within these shores or hopping on a plane to somewhere altogether Not Here. The Greatest Show Summer Holiday Club is for 8 to 18 year olds at Tara Arts in Earlsfield next week, full of acting, singing and dancing rehearsals of the smash hit musical. Step aside Zac and Zendaya, there are new kids in town…(read more).

Summer Shoots: Make a Movie in a Week is over at JAGS in Dulwich next week for any future filmmakers aged 6 to 14. Lights, camera, action! (read more)

If you think yours might love to tread the boards, then book them into Little Voices’ Moana Summer Camp over in Fulham in late August. All the fun and not nearly as far as an island in the Pacific (read more).

Summer Arts: Street Dance and Circus is a week of acrobatics, pop and lock, breakdancing and circus skills for 8 to 11 year olds, all working towards an outdoor performance at the end of the week (read more).

The Battersea Ironsides RFC Harlequins Summer Camp is for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 for three days only – both beginners and regulars welcome (read more).

Baby Broadway hits Balham soon with its feel-good West End favourites from Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music to Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Grease.  Summer Lovin’ has got to be in there! (read more)

Little Rackets Summer Camp gets underway in Wandsworth each morning next week, ideal for children aged 3 to 5 just starting to get to grips with the whole idea of game, set and match (read more).

A Musical Bear Hunt is a musical adventure for 2 to 5 year olds with singing, guitar and lots of props as they roam around King George’s Park. Will they meet a bear in the bushes? (read more)

Wild Child Festival is a new family-friendly festival set in Dulwich later on this month. Arts, crafts, creative play and wellbeing for those aged 0 up to 11 and their families with dancing, tech, tightrope, trapeze, magic, storytelling, theatre and more (read more).


A little learning along the way

Looking for something purposeful for your teens to do? What better than First Aid for Teenagers in Balham? Three hours of time very well spent (read more).

Hyde Tutoring is running a 7+ & 8+ Summer Revision Course later on this month just off Clapham Common. Make sure they haven’t forgotten everything! (read more)

And there’s an 11+ Maths & English Revision Course too (read more).

Yellowbird Education is holding Creative Writing Workshops at Parsons Green Prep later this month, ideal for anyone prepping for the 7+, 8+ or 11+ (read more).

There’s a G&T Masterclass with Sarah B on St John’s Hill soon and it’s in the afternoon so you’re welcome to bring your babies along to learn all about Britain’s most popular spirit, sipping as you listen (read more).


And finally..The last Camp Suisse session of the 2018 season isn’t far off so if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time to give your children the week of a lifetime up in the Swiss Alps.
