“Why is your eldest doing an impression of a dog rolling in the snow?”
The text from a neighbour didn’t make much sense.
I’d just sent both my children off to school, despite their protestations that in the midst of the snowy deluge this was tantamount to child cruelty.
“Errrr….he’s finished rolling around and now he’s rubbing it in his hair,” she continued, “v. v. odd.”
Until it totally made sense.
Thirty seconds later the doorbell rang and my son stood there looking like he’d just been pulled from an avalanche.
“I told you it was too snowy for school,” he complained, “I slipped AND now I’m freezing AND it’s your fault.”
I held up my phone for him to read.
On the basis that every snowdrift has a sparkly lining, he then turned around, slammed the door behind him and slushed off to school.
