Last Updated on : 5th June 2023

Ellie Gilbert joins Bellevue Law, growing the boutique firm’s employment team to 13 senior employment lawyers and a total firm headcount of 17.

Ellie joins from Stephenson Law, where she was Associate Director and Head of Employment. During her time there, Ellie focused on supporting fast-growth companies and assisting with senior departures, particularly those in the tech sector. Prior to this, she worked as an employment lawyer at two major law firms after qualifying in 2008.

Ellie supports employees and employers in navigating complex employment law issues across various sectors, including technology, professional services, media, retail and financial services.

She is well known through her work in representing senior women facing issues in the workplace relating to sex, pregnancy and maternity discrimination. She is praised for her empathetic and pragmatic approach in this area.

She acts for Claimants and Respondents in complex Tribunal litigation, often involving discrimination and whistleblowing claims. She regularly assists clients (on both sides of the table) with difficult employee relations issues, exits, settlement negotiations and redundancy/restructuring exercises.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Ellie to our team. She has an impressive reputation and top-tier experience. I know that she will add huge value to our clients and the team.”
Florence Brocklesby, Founder, Bellevue Law.

“During my time at Stephenson Law I had the pleasure of working alongside Bellevue Law and, as an employment lawyer, was aware of their burgeoning reputation and the quality of their work. So when deciding to move to a consultancy role, they were an obvious choice. I’m really excited to join Florence and the first-rate team at Bellevue Law and continue my work for senior executives and employers.”
