Common-law wife

Dear NappyValleyNetter,

“And there were REALLY weird noises coming out of mummy and daddy’s bedroom last night.”

It was my godson’s birthday supper and my daughter’s latest pronouncement managed to silence all of the adults seated around the table.

“Ooooooh,” continued my youngest encouraged by the fact she now had the floor, “Mooooh,” she gurned to the other children whilst my bestie mouthed a quizzical “Mooh???” in my direction.

So, if your other half has some weird bedroom habits, including listening to whale music (on their new Amazon Echo) whilst trying to get to sleep, I suggest you let your friends and family know in advance of your bedtime.

Because, trust me, none of them will believe you after the event.
