Thanks so much for your recommendations, everyone.

We ended up booking a trial session with Lisa Campbell of Campbell Chats, and my son loved her - he asked when she could come back and play with him again. We are having a series of half-hour sessions with her to address the trickiest consonant sounds, and Lisa is also going to give us some guidance on how we can work on his speech ourselves.

Hi All,

I am a Speech and Language therapist with a clinic in Clapham South. I use a method called PROMPT to tackle difficulties with the Speech motor system. I have found it much more effective than traditional articulation methods I used to use. The research and evidence is also very strong.

I have over 15 years experience and a lot of success with this method.

Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss.

Try The Children’s Place. They have a clinic on Falcon Road behind Clapham Junction (and one in Marylebone). They were great with my boy.

Casey Jackson from Ruth Jacobs Children's Therapy is amazing! She’s so sweet and kind and has worked with many children from our nursery, right up to prep-school age. All the children from my class who needed S&L loved her.

We’re about to start speech therapy for our 3 year old for the exact same issue so will let you know how we get on with the therapist!

Hi,

We were very happy with Lisa Campbell (http://lisamcampbell.wixsite.com/campbellchats). She is wonderful with children and our son (8 YO) was looking forward to the sessions.

All the best,

Sam

My son, who will be three next month, has some speech delay. It is not language delay - his vocabulary is fine and so is his sentence structure - but a problem with producing speech sounds, especially consonants, which other children of his age don’t seem to struggle with. These include c, g, and l.

We can usually understand him and so can his teachers at nursery, but strangers often have problems understanding him.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a local speech therapist who could assess and help him?

Thank you!
