Can't say I'm surprised.
At the moment we have Debenhams at Clapham Junction, Southside (due to close 2020) and Wimbledon (also due to close 2020) within a very small compass.
The Wimbledon Debenhams is huge so that will have an even greater impact on the "Centre Court" shopping centre than Southside will...
It is a tragedy for all those employed - but I would love John Lewis to step in and take one of these vacated units (maybe Wimbledon is the right size).
At the moment Kingston John Lewis and Peter Jones are the nearest JL stores - both a bit of a trek - I would love them to open up more locally - and they would be guaranteed customers unlike Debenhams sadly.
