Great thread! Good information, I like it. I'll probably take these contacts. I now have an unfinished renovation in my house that I plan to finish before the beginning of spring, and I only have to find junior electricians to repair the wiring. My brother advised me Bates Electric St Louis and I plan to contact them, but I will also take your contacts to have several options and be fully confident in the success of my repair. Who has already contacted them, guys tell me-do they do their job well? I want to be completely sure that everything will go well as it is quite urgent and important for me.

What sort of work is required? Is it something to do with Health & Safety requirements? Lighting & fire alarms?

Whenever I see leasehold my antennae pick up - are you aware of the drive to regulate managing agents and their extortionate bills? They are a law unto themselves, charging too much for "managing" as well as %s on bills and insurance costs.

Two groups and a number of MPs are supporting us for change - also to make lease extensions and freehold purchases easier and cheaper.

Keep an eye on the action and add your say to any consultations that you see. Brexit aside, it's a hot topic and things are going to change - but we have to add our input to ensure that the change is enough.

Happy to quote for you, we do a lot of installation work for freeholders upgrading systems to meet LA requirements in the local area.

Drop me an email or send the spec over to me and I can take a look.

Electrician Wanted

We are the owners of a leasehold property in Wandsworth. Today they have notified us of their intention to carry out works within the communal space. Having obtained a quote they have proposed a cost for this and as I’m sure you’d imagine... a pretty steep one!! We have a month to nominate a contractor and obtain a counter estimate. There are a few requirements they need to meet but nothing out of the ordinary if used to dealing with Companies or Local Authorities. Would be grateful if anyone knows a contractor willing to quote (have a full description of proposed works) but happy to arrange a ‘site visit’.
