A friend of mine also swears by this restaurant but their vegetarian selection is truly woeful. There are no vegetarian starters and only one main course (gnocchi - zzzzzzz). Given how many vegetarians there are I don’t understand why restaurants don’t make a bit more of an effort. They seem to forget that vegetarians usually live with or are friends with meat eaters so if a restaurant doesn’t cater for us we simply won’t book it and they miss out on a whole table’s worth of people - it’s not just the one vegetarian.

Agree! We’ve been twice fairly recently and had a really excellent meal both times.

This is a shout out for Hatched on St John's Hill, where we had an excellent dinner last evening - our first time back there since before covid, but we'll be back soon.  The food is really imaginative and absolutely delicious, and the whole 'vibe' makes it a wonderful evening out.  It's exactly the sort of local business that we want to survive and thrive in these difficult times, so treat yourself!.
