Wandsworth Council’s receptions will be open to the public again from Monday, September 28.

However, the public are being urged to make sure that they book in advance if they need an appointment to avoid having to queue. Call 020 8871 6000.

And the Marble Hall, which is also based in the Town Hall, will be open again for public meetings from Monday (September 21).

Since July 6 the council’s receptions have remained open for limited appointments but that will now change back to a walk-in service for those who need it.

Council Leader Ravi Govindia said: “Our key receptions and buildings are gradually re-opening as we slowly try and get things back on the road to normality.

“While we are soon to be offering a service where people can walk in should they need to, it is important to stress that the vast majority of enquiries can be resolved online or over the phone.

“We would encourage people to initially use the website or call us before coming in and if a face to face appointment is needed, these can still be booked in advance over the phone.”

During Lockdown when receptions had to close, Wandsworth Council set up a community hub hotline which took thousands of calls and helped many people with advice or assistance.

Councillor Govindia said: “Throughout lockdown we reached out to vast numbers of people through the community hub as well as trying to carry on with business as usual. But it is pleasing to see front of house services now re-opening as people gradually return to work. The hub was a great success and going forward we will take what we learnt from that to ensure we provide the best possible service to our residents.”

Opening hours for the receptions will be 10am to 4pm, and 9am to 5pm for the Marble Hall. Social distancing will apply and all visitors are asked to wear a mask. You will be required to give personal contact details for test and trace

Please remember that nearly all enquiries can be dealt with by visiting our website, or you can call us on 020 8871 6000.
