Thanks so much. I do really like the look of Oman but I think mid thirties will a tad hot for us! Might be better for a Feb break. Thanks for the Greece and Turkey reassurance. Leaning towards one of those options at the moment.

Yes they (UAE and Oman) are hot but not unbearable - obviously it depends on what degree of heat you like. Personally I would be worried that Europe wouldn’t be hot enough at this time of year - it might be, but it’s not guaranteed. But then I like heat and don’t like to be shivering by a pool!

The canary islands are also a good bet at this time of year for sunshine

The Shangri La in Oman is very child friendly. And adult friendly too. Also Ras Al Kaimah in the UAE is nicer than Dubai and near Dubai airport. There is a beautiful beach and some lovely hotels.

If you want guaranteed sun and beach weather temperatures your best bet is probably the Middle East - UAE or Oman. I think any closer you run the risk that it won’t be hot enough.

Thinking of trying to get some half term sun. Thinking Greece or Turkey but not sure of which is guaranteed sun? Any other suggestions most welcome too. Have prep school age children but not necessarily looking for the whole kids club thing - just some family time in the sun if anyone has any experiences of lovely hotels? Left it all a but late i know :-)
