Actually gender selection does not cost $20,000! To do PGT which will reveal the gender along with testing for chromosome abnormalities for 6 to 8 embryos cost $1600 at Cooper genomics where they send off the biopsies to be evaluated and tested.

I have three sons and I have a very close relationship with my youngest, just because of his personality. So what I am saying is that there is no guarantee that a daughter would be close to you or that your sons won’t. You just need to decide if you want three children, and you will, I’m sure, be delighted with a son or daughter.

I totally understand you and I felt the same. Get a book called ‘choosing the sex of your baby the natural way’ by Hazel Chesterman Philipps. It worked for me and 4 people i recommended it to. It isn’t based on diet, it’s on timing ovulation and has scientific research. As others have said, you have to want a third baby and be willing to take the risk it’s another boy. Good luck

Thank you for your thoughts. I think that it as a bottom line I need to decide if I want 3 children and if yes, am I happy that this may be 3 boys. I don't want to bring a child into the world if I am going to be wishing that they were a different sex to the one I had hoped for. Many thanks also for the gender selection insight. As far as your feeling go, it’s totally natural and OK to long for a girl.
It’s got nothing to do against boys as one protested. The bond between a mother and daughter can be so special.
Loads of men really want a son, it’s quite normal.
In terms of it happening it’s another issue.
If you are willing to have a go and accepting or either outcome it’s the best way forward.
I personally don’t agree with gender selection.

Not going to shoot you down one tiny bit just going to say the methods of producing girls through diet don’t have any science behind them, so won’t reliably change the dominant male theme.
I would also add the cautionary note - how would you feel if your third child was twins? It has happened to a couple of people I know, so see how open you feel to all the possibilities.

I'm so sorry people are being so mean.  It's totally understandable.  These days you can go to ivf clinics that help you to select the sex of your baby but I am not sure if it's legal in this country.  Good Luck whatever you choose.

I totally understand your feelings. You are allowed to feel them no matter what anyone else believes to be right! I was in same situation many years ago. While I tried to decide if I wanted a third baby or only a daughter, time ticked slowly on… fast forward 5 years of trying a few of the methods you have probably read about and I realised I actually wanted a third baby to complete our family and gender was no longer as important. I then couldn’t conceive and ended up having IVF. We were very lucky to be successful and ended up having twin boys! Go figure… Moral of story is that I love all 4 children and wouldn’t change things for the world BUT the secret longing for a daughter has never really left, only diminished. It’s not something anyone talks about - you just learn to live with it. It doesn’t make you a bad person to want a girl but there are no certain ways to make this happen. The only way you’re going to guarantee a daughter is going to the US or Cyprus and having sex-selection IVF
It will cost in the region of £20k

Beware though, a friend had this in the US and ended up with 8 embryos which were all boys
Some men do just naturally produce a lot of one type of sperm and therefore aren’t capable of producing embryos of the other sex - hence the stats you’ve read that once you have 2 children of the same sex, your odds of the third being the same are no longer 50:50

If you don't want another baby boy, don't have a third child hun.

You might be "extremely lucky" but newsflash: you can't leafy-greens-and-almonds your way to having a girl. Get a grip.

If you really believe this then I would suggest you don't try for a third child. If you are prepared to risk it by trusting in some sort of airy fairy diet that might or might not give you a girl, and then you get a boy what will you do/think/feel? Imagine the poor gorgeous baby boy that has a mother to whom he knows he was a disappointment.

Maybe consider a holiday to a country where gender selection is legal - Cyprus for example. Good luck in your attempts, whatever you do. (My father had 4 boys, my brother had 3 boys, we have 2 boys..!)

I understand your desire to have a daughter, I was the same after my first who is a boy. Before trying for our second I used the girl gender sway programme from a company called thenubtechs.com. It is mainly focused on diet, which I was very strict about.
Who knows if it was the preparation or just fate, but our second was a baby girl and we couldn’t be happier.

Before anyone shoots me down I realise that I am already extremely lucky in that I already have two healthy children but I was extremely close to my mum and would love to have a daughter. It's just that I don't feel it is something that I can talk about as others aren't so lucky.

I have read that there are certain things that you can do to help increase your chances and I am wondering if anyone has had any luck with any of these things. I have also read that if you have two boys and try again you are more likely to have another boy. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? I am not sure that I want a third boy.
