Also look at BringingupBaby just off the Wandsworth Rd. All three of mine have gone there/go there and theres a great huge garden, a kitchen on site and lovely staff. Good luck finding the right place!

Have you considered Elm Park Nursery on Clarence Avenue?

Our little one has been going there for one day a week for the last 2 months. She started at 6 months and seems really happy there. The staff are lovely and really caring. They have a huge garden which is amazing. In the warmer months the children spend loads of time outside. When I rang up initially I was told there was a waiting list but we were called and offered a place within 10 minutes getting home after having looked around. I was dreading sending her to nursery so young but I am very comfortable doing so now as she is always smiling and happy when I pick her up.I know of a few other families that also sent their older children there and they highly recommend it too. Well worth a visit!

Thanks a million. We have lined up a visit for next week, I love the sound of the place.

Our 19 month little girl goes to Anglo Spanish in Clapham Manor Street. She loves it! We really liked it when we visited the first time - rooms are big and the garden is lovely - they spend lots of time outdoor which I like. It's a family run nursery and that reflects on the place - it does have a homely feeling. Staff are lovely and they are all Spanish speakers - so now my daughter understands Spanish as well which is a plus. They have a waiting list and they have a viewing day a month so I would suggest to call them asap if you would like to see the place. To be honest we didn't start to search properly until our girl was around 6 months - I simply wasn't sure what was the most suitable form of childcare for her - but we managed to find a place anyway. I heard waiting list in some of the nurseries BTC are massive but it might be slightly different in SW4. When we started looking we also viewed Baby room in Old Town - but it felt too small and I didn't really like it (plus it's very expensive) but again, it's worth a visit. We also looked at Bright Horizon in Stockwell. I also heard Elms Park nursery is really good but was too far off from our way to work for us to consider it. Good luck!

Any advice at all would be very gratefully received as to nurseries that parents could recommend near Abbeville rd and general environs. We'll travel for a nice nursery, but would like to make life easy for our baby while she is wee (she would be 1ish when she starts, she is five months now, and yes I know we are screwed but just moved into this neighbourhood :( ).

Thanks a million. I promise I am looking hard myself so not asking anyone to do my homework for me, but would really appreciate any feedback.
