We live in Taybridge Road, which is in the Wix School catchment area.

We are looking at moving out of London to Haywards Heath.

Someone told me that if your child has French parents / parent then that would automatically get them to the front of the queue for the bilingual class, but I may be wrong and it's something I'll need to look into closer.
I guess the 200,000 or so French registered in London alone means that the 14 places are quickly allocated in any case

Admission arrangements for Wix primary school

Wix primary school shares its premises with the Lycée Ecole, a school maintained by the French Government.
Since September 2006, Wix school has provided bilingual primary education in conjunction with the Lycée Ecole.
The school has a separate reception class in which children will receive a bilingual education, as well as having its
normal reception class. The bilingual class will be of up to 28 pupils, 14 of which will be applicants for Wix school and the remaining 14 will be applicants to the Lycee Ecole. Parents applying for a bilingual place at Wix school will need to list the school on the Wandsworth application form, but must also complete a supplementary information form and will be asked to say whether they also wish to apply for a place in the normal class. The form is available on request from the council’s
Pupil Services Section and both forms should be returned to the council’s Pupil
Services Section by 23 January 2009. If there are more applications than places for either class, children will be admitted to each class in the order of priority set out in the Admission Criteria for Community primary schools set out
on this page. Parents who are refused a place in both classes have the right of appeal against the decision. However if an appeal is successful it will be for the school to decide into which class the child will be admitted.
Parents of children admitted to the bilingual class, should be aware that the Headteacher reserves the right to move a child from the bilingual class to the normal class, where he considers this to be in the child’s best interests.
