Occupational Therapist is not qualified to diagnose many of the things Sensory Issues maybe associated issues with, however can help your child with those sensory issues.
If you are just starting out your journey and you need to know what is at the core of the sensory and attention concerns with your child you will need to see an Educational Psychologist- this is the only professional who can diagnose and advise on a an appropriate course of action.
In my personal experience with my own 3 boys - many children have sensory issues at a very young age and inattention is also very common. However is could also be a sign of Autism, ADHD or nothing at all. Only an Educational Psychologist can diagnose. Occupational therapist will treat.

At The Parent Practice we always recommend CFPsychology for educational psychologists. Batul and her team are lovely and it is usually very quick to get an appointment. They are based in Harley Street.

We use Munira at OT4Kids in Southfields.
There are others eg Kikis on thurleigh road or there is someone at The Children’s Place (speech therapy but also have OT) on falcon road.
As someone above suggested it might be worth seeing someone who can look at the whole picture of what is happening eg Ed psych if only to rule out other things that may be impacting. Or you could start with a paediatrician.
As someone else said wait for good private people can be a while too so don’t rule out NHS. Although we use a private OT to supplement all our diagnostic assessments were done through NHS.

You need too find an educational psychologist - there are a lot of private ones.

You may find that October is pretty quick - when we had a private OT assessment (possibly what your daughter would need of it's sensory issues) we waited for few months to get seen. 
It's certainly worth calling around some of the private clinics though to see what availability they have - Therapy 4 Kids in Raynes Park is another good one to try.

My daughter is in reception at a local school and has been referred to SEN - she has a lack of attention and focus which we feel is being driven by sensory issues. We are keen to look at how she can be supported.

The next available appointment via the council isn’t until October so we would like to get an assessment privately.

Not sure where to start! Is a children’s occupational therapist the best person for her to see?? And if so does anyone have any personal recommendations?
