Absolutely second Higham.
Top marks for quality and design and doing it bespoke and very good value as well.
Tim Higham was lovely to work with too!

Yes, I would avoid Shaker Kitchen Company at all costs! They did our kitchen, and although the end product is really lovely their disorganisation and complete lack of professionalism lead to long delays, loads of mistakes that needed correcting and ultimately increased cost, with very little by way of acknowledgement / apology from them. Thank goodness I was on mat leave when it was being done because working with them became a full time job! Definitely use someone else. Good luck;-)

We got ours from Dorset Kitchens http://dorsetkitchens.co.uk/ It's shaker style solid wood and they were great and delivered and fitted it (we are between the commons). It's beautifully made, very solid, and every kitchen is custom designed and hand built. They were also very reasonably priced although this was a few years ago.

My two sisters-in-law and I all used Higham, who are based in Parsons Green. They are really excellent. A total pleasure to work with from start to finish, and beautiful quality.

Bespoke kitchen recommendations

by Victorianterrace » Wed Jul 17, 2019 2:33 pm

Hi all,

I’ve just bought a house and I’m wanting to get a kitchen installed. It’s really important to me that it’s solid wood and not laminate and I’m looking for a shaker style kitchen.. I’ve been to speak with shaker kitchen company but they seem to be SO disorganized and really inflexible with their design. I’ve spoke to a couple of other company’s who do amazing kitchens but they are all like £50k plus which seems crazy for a small kitchen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for kitchen companies or for joiners/carpenters they think would do a good job?

Thanks!
