I loved this place when mine was younger as somewhere that was lovely and big and didn’t worry about buggies being in way as plenty of space to put them to one side. Also great and safe outside space plus on Fridays there’s a see saw club for pre schoolers at the gallery (from memory think it’s free).
We’ve been a few times already and food always been great- so pleased to have the cafe open again!

Hi everybody,

If you are looking for a day out this weekend, we might just have a lovely idea for you!

We’re excited to let you know that we’ve been working with the team at Orleans House Gallery to reopen their historic Stables Café, close to the river in St Margaret’s, Twickenham. It’s just over the river from Ham House, upstream from Richmond and Petersham Nurseries.

Orleans House is home to a wonderful art gallery, the stunning Grade 1 listed Octagon Room (where the 18th Century royalty used to dine and be entertained) and a super programme of arts and culture based events for both adults and kids, throughout the year. You might also want to put their Christmas shopping weekend in diaries, which starts on 30th November - we'll be there with the mulled wine!

Our new café is located in the Victorian Stable Block and is now open, from Tuesday to Sunday each week (please note that both the gallery and café are closed every Monday). We’ve got all of our favourites there - a lovely all day brunch menu with something for everyone, our house-baked treats, Jude’s Ice-Cream, Curious Roo Coffee, Bellevue Tea and more! You can find the address and opening times here. Parking is available at the gallery and in the area. Or even better, it’s a short hop by train from Clapham Junction to St Margaret’s, followed by a ten minute walk, or scoot!

We hope to welcome you at The Stables Café soon! Please be assured that this does not affect the other parts of our little family of cafes - with experienced managers and chefs staying in residence at both Skylark and The Rookery Cafe in Streatham.
