Starr: You have a point but, if houses in this country were designed properly, space should always be allocated for a separate laundry room - on whatever floor. But no - most seem to prefer 'fashionable' massive kitchens, with heaps of wasted space .... leaving no room for a separate laundry, which ideally will include the washer/dryer, tubs, lines for hanging damp items, etc. A proper laundry in other words which, in my opinion, every house should have. Fitted kitchens were the rage when they were first introduced here decades ago ... but apparently nobody thought of fitted laundries. Maybe one day the penny will drop.
