One of the biggest issues I see in the state system is the number of pupils who don't have english as their first language, I know Broadwater has 73%, that cant be good for educating children surely ? Just an aside but I think teachers (or even ex teachers) have just as much right to input into the debate as parents - in fact, one might even argue that they are likely to have more experience... We don't ask that people with a clear personal axe to grind in favour of private education remain silen...

It is an amazing report! The grapevine has it that the head is a very inspirational leader. Well done Hillbrook! Especially to be Outstanding under the latest Ofsted regime is very impressive

I'm a very happy Broadwater parent - my daughter is in Year 2 and my son is in Nursery there (in his second year of Nursery has he started last year after turning 3 in September). Yes, the Catholic schools mentioned are at the top of the tables but that doesn't mean the other schools are bad schools...
