Re: Bolingbroke Academy, thoughts?

Hi Charlie. Bolingbroke Academy has a very small dining hall. Each year group has always had lunch individually. As the “bubbles“ are going to be year groups they will not mix with any students from other year groups. I am sure the hygiene element has been thought through - hand sanitizers etc. Mayb...

Re: Local charity in need of GCSE tutoring support

This is such a fantastic charity. I am not a tutor myself but if any of you tutors out there would consider volunteering it would be great for these kids. These kids have absolutely no way of affording tutoring and have all the disadvantages that life has presented them with. I imagine that they are...

Re: Wandsworth Test 2018

£550 - astonishing amount of money for most people. So now even state school places can be bought by wealthier people.

Re: Tutor 7+

Great insight into entrance exams and tutoring SW12Pops but it doeesn't half highlight how ridiculous the whole system is.

Re: BP on Clapham Northside

Not that I know of Vhopeful. I think if you’re looking anywhere in London levels of pollution are going to be an issue. The quality of life I get from Sugden Road far outweighs having the BP garage at the end of it.

Re: BP on Clapham Northside

Sugden Road is a great road! It is a very friendly road and you wouldn't regret moving there. There is a bit of through traffic but not anymore than other side roads. I wouldn't say the noise of the garage is much of a problem - if anything the garage is very useful when you've run out of milk in th...

Re: Chicken pox

I'm pretty sure this is the usual time of year for there to be a chicken pox outbreak - I seem to remember mine having it during the February half term.

Re: Petition to inprove road safety outside Chestnut Grove School...

But unless you know something we don’t Bunnypigeon I can’t see how you can blame some of the children for the accidents of four others. Unless you’re saying that all the children at Chestnut Grove are running around and jumping out at cars. They’re not really asking for anything excessive in the pet...

Re: Petition to inprove road safety outside Chestnut Grove School...

I’m not sure how many secondary schools you drive past on a regular basis Bunnypigeon but this sounds like normal teenage behaviour to me. There have been four accidents involving children which I would say is four too many. At the risk of being slammed down wouldn’t it be better if we could all be ...

Re: Six schoolgirls rushed to hospital from Wandsworth's Burntwood School after 'taking too much of the anti-anxiety dru

I don’t think it’s prescribed. Xanax is the latest prescription drug to be sold by dealers - loads of teenagers are trying it out. There was an article in The Guardian about it yesterday: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/feb/05/xanax-misuse-uk-dark-web-sales-health And this one: https://www....

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

This moncher12: “All the good teachers leave or will be leaving and many of them do not agree with the way Ms Edis runs things”. I have been at the school for 5 years now. The majority of teaching staff are excellent. There are still many teachers at the school who started in the first couple of yea...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

Janee and moncher12 - do you actually have children at Bolingbroke Academy? It is very easy to make sweeping statements about a school based on hearsay. I hear plenty of things about other schools but I tend to take them with a pinch of salt rather than spreading malicious gossip.

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

I also have children at Bolingbroke Academy and it is fair to say they have had their fair share of detentions between them. If a child doesn’t know why they have received a detention it is very easy to find out. The school keeps a log of every single negative and positive House point and what that ...
