Jeweller recommendation for valuation and restoration

I have inherited a Sapphire ring from my Grandmother which I believe is more than 100 years old. Can anyone recommend an excellent jeweller who could provide a valuation and clean/restore it?

Thank you.

Re: Hockey clubs for 8yr old

Worth also trying The Wimbledon Club. My daughter is also on the waiting list for the two clubs you mention, but has just started with TWC instead.

Re: Roche Nursery Views

I have two children at The Roche - one now in year 4 and the other in year 1. The youngest went to the nursery at the main school site for a year before reception and we couldn't have been happier. The curriculum is varied and stimulating and he loved it so much we had to drag him away from nursery ...

Re: Best Santa's Grotto in/near London

Have done Bocketts, Chessington garden Centre and Painshill before, but our favourite has been Crockford Bridge Farm. It’s so lovely - they take you on an immersive theatrical journey through a small wood and you get to meet Father Christmas at the end. Was really well done and the kids loved it!

Re: Primary Schools Clapham/Wandsworth

Both my children go to The Roche School in Wandsworth Town - which is well situated if you are thinking of Clapham Junction/Wandsworth Common/Town areas and worth considering. We are very happy with the school and my children absolutely love it. They can't wait to go each day. It’s a very warm, car...

Re: Wandsworth: where / how to leave rubbish out?

The bin men definitely won't take recycling if it's not in a council recycling bag. They will probably assume it's general rubbish and dispose of it that way. You used to be able to collect bags from local libraries - not sure if you still can, but the council normally do deliver them fairly quickly...

Re: What has happened to Nappyvalleynet

Glad you are making the changes. Please can things like nanny job ads be moved to their own section and not appear in the new posts section. They just clog up the whole feed and turn me off even logging on. I used to check the website all the time, but the sheer number of posts means I check the sit...

Re: What has happened to Nappyvalleynet

I think the advent of a lot of the Mums Facebook groups has had an impact I feel - some of them in our area have a huge amount of followers from a wide range of backgrounds and can generate a lot of interesting debate and the topics can disappear quickly and be replaced by something new. I also find...

Re: Mauritius recommendations

We also stayed at Heritage Le Telfair and we all absolutely loved it - we didn’t want to leave!! They have since had a refurb so bet it is even nicer now!! The kids were 4 and 6 at the time and really enjoyed the kids club, even though most of the children there were French speakers. The kids club ...

Re: Parking Fine at Flip Out - WARNING

Yes you only get two hours free parking there - but as you say, it’s not long enough if you get there before time to register and go through the safety briefing and then if kids want a drink or snack after. Even 2 1/2 hours would be better!

Re: Paying for childcare cash in hand - what's the view?

She shouldn't take the job. It’s illegal for them to do that and there are plenty of employers who do play by the rules and pay tax, NI and employer’s NI as they should. She will be missing out on her legal entitlement to NI contributions and her pension contributions. It’s not fair to expect a nann...

Re: C-section dilemma

As another poster has said second and subsequent births are often a lot easier and quicker than the first time round - your body has done it all before so knows the drill. Obviously everyone has different experiences, but I found my second birth much more straight forward and easier and less frighte...

Re: Dumped christmas tree caused me injury

I agree - it's a complete nightmare - everywhere you go, piles of trees are mounting up on pavements and blowing around in the wind. Some pavements are impassable - I have seen people with buggies and children forced to walk on the road as a result - and the trees are a real obstruction - my childre...
