Re: I'm looking for a Computer Science GCSE tutor

Jonny, there is a great website called mytutor.co.uk where you can find tutors for all subjects across all levels.
We used it for GCSE and are about to use it for A Level too.

Re: Child tooth extraction for orthondontics

My children have had many teeth removed ahead of orthodontic treatment and never had more than a local anaesthetic. If they are ‘baby’ teeth they don’t have deep roots like adult teeth and so come out pretty easily.

Re: Orthodontist - nhs braces help

My child is currently being treated as an NHS patient at Orchard Orthodontics in Brixton. Not really sure on what criteria they qualified for free treatment except teeth were pretty terrible!
I’d give them a try just in case as they’re very efficient and all very kind.

Re: Just how hard is it to get into a private secondary school in SW London?

Bama I think you misread Betsyboop - she is talking about the current year 7 so September ‘21 entry and you are referring to those going this September ‘22.
My friends child was told they were at the top of the waitlist for current year 7 but was never offered a place, guess this explains why.

Re: Weekend pedestrianisation of Northcote Road will begin at Easter

Can someone explain why the restaurants add a cover charge? I realise there is a cost to them for the road closure but in return they get to put out more tables and so earn more revenue. I don’t expect to pay more normally when I dine in a restaurant with a bigger premises because their rent is high...

Can I ask what school your son is at Windmill?
We’ve got our 4th choice too and am feeling a little anxious!

Re: Unfair on husband?

I think you are within your rights to feel upset, and even jealous. I would too. However I think the bigger picture is that he is doing the right thing by his mother (even if it feels the wrong thing by you) and so you need to let it go. It is an argument that no one will win and will just cause mor...

Re: Is £3,500 to paint a 2BR flat normal?

The decorating quote seems pretty high to me. Does it include lots of woodwork (skirting, picture rails, doors) as that can drive the price up? Flooring also appears quite high but I guess it depends what finish you're after? How many people have you had to quote for you? I can recommend both a deco...

Re: How much to do a side return kitchen extension?

Guess it really depends what you want to do. My sister just finished hers and even with an inexpensive new kitchen paid @£80K.

Need an engineer for new boiler

Our current boiler has been condemned and we need a new one. Not really sure where to start as this isn't something our normal plumber can do. Can anyone recommend an engineer who can supply and fit one?
Thanks.

Which Elsa costume??!

Who knew there were so many variations of one outfit; I'm going slightly crazy online trying to choose one for my daughter!!
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of a particular Elsa costume, incl where they bought it. Or even if anyone has any warnings of which ones to avoid?
Thankyou.

Re: Breast surgeon recommendations please

Hi Supergirl, I was in exactly the same position as you earlier this year. I waited 10 days for an nhs appt and they were some of the most anxious days of my life. On the day itself I had a thorough physical examination, a mammogram of both breasts and an ultrasound. Although the lump in my breast w...

Re: Suitcase and packing advice

Really depends which airline you're flying with and their baggage allowance. Plus don't forget that unless you're buying a seat for the baby they have no baggage allowance, that said with a 20kg allowance you should manage both children in 1 bag. I've found the easiest suitcases to manoeuvre are the...

Re: Very unhappy with Lauristons Estate Agents

Working Mom - what a timely post, I have a friend who is going through something similar with Lauristons, except in their case they are the landlord looking for a refund of the commission. This is taken by Lauristons on an annual basis at the start of a tenancy, or upon its renewal. The tenants are ...
