can you recommend an outstanding cleaner - pre-tenancy

I've used companies like Molly Maid and found their services ok, but only ok. Can anyone recommend a company that really do the job thoroughly - behind, on top, inside out type cleaning so the house is truly deep-cleaned and spotless? Personal recommendations only rather than companies looking for b...

Saturday morning activities for 7 yr old, any ideas please?

Can anyone recommend an organised Saturday morning activity for an energetic 7-yr old boy please? Preferably something that is more than an hour! He's sporty but not super-sporty so things like the football leagues on Wandsworth Common would be too much, he used to enjoy Playball but is a bit old fo...

Re: Chivalry Road Playground / Bolingbroke Academy

Clearly that isn't great behaviour, but for the sake of balance I've had to tell off children from both Emanuel school and Dulwich College in that playground before for their intimidating behaviour and poor attitude towards the younger children. Some teenagers are very badly behaved but most are lov...

Victorian rope edging tiles for sale

I have 70 Victorian / Edwardian rope edged tiles, 23.5 cm long, so would edge about 16m of garden.

They are in decent condition, painted green on the tops but could easily be painted over if desired.

£70 for the lot, must be collected from SW11.

Recommendation for a good roofer

Can anyone recommend a good, honest roofer please? I need someone to do some minor repairs but have suffered with cowboys recalls and would really like a personal referral.

Thanks!

Badge sewing help required!

Does anyone know of a sewing service? My child just started cubs and there seems to be a lot of sewing needed for the badges! I have a problem with my hands, and am a pretty rubbish sewer anyway. Not sure this is something the dry cleaners / repair places would do??

Re: Is Northcote Road Battersea or Clapham?

Definitely Battersea! Clapham is the area around Clapham North / Clapham Common tube stations.

Re: Looking for a full-time nanny - Clapham - Ashness Road

Ahem .. Ashness Road is not in Clapham! It's in Battersea, if you want to be very precise (and a little pretentious) you can say Between the Commons. Or off Northcote Road. I'm not saying this to have a go, if you're advertising yourself as being in Clapham you may be missing out on people who alrea...

Re: Paedo fined for Battersea Park activity

Julian, can you expand on the problems at Clapham Common please? Is there anything or any place in particular parents should be vigilant about?

Thanks

Re: Petition - school admission system

Medway - what if you bought your house years ago for considerably less than £1.5m?! It doesn't follow that having wealth tied up in bricks and mortar means you have the disposable income to afford school fees of c.£13,000 per child per year.

Re: Petition - school admission system

I'll say it again - what about the younger siblings of those children who start at the school in eg Yr 3 and above, some of whose families may well already live 1000m away? The school needs to fill places when they become vacant (often because so-called "local" families decide to move out ...

Re: Petition - school admission system

Has anyone considered that the siblings who come from further away may do so because their older brothers or sisters were admitted into the school in later years? For example, local family decides to move out of London. This creates a vacancy in, say, Year 3. No-one local wants this space, their kid...

Re: Belleville catchment area

Yes of course I understand that you don't get two places, but on the rough basis of current offers, if you live in certain roads you have your pick of places at the point that you apply. Other people only metres away from these prime roads will currently not have an offer from either school, both of...
