Re: TEENAGERS AND DRUGS

I agree with Al Anon recommendation. This helped me to deal with the alcoholism in my family I grew up with and in denial about. He may need residential addiction treatment although that will only work if he wants to quit. Unfortunately addiction to drugs, like alcohol, has very little to do with 'w...

Re: TEENAGERS AND DRUGS

Hi everyone. I feel very sad and upset to see this and it's very worrying for those of us with younger children also. I have an extreme example but I have just come out of the Priory and in there was a young man (20 years old), choral scholar, excellent brain (although he sadly did not reach his pot...

Re: is the Priory Clinic any good?

I have just one month ago left the Priory in Woking which I chose because it is much smaller than Roehampton (only about 32 beds) and I wanted to be further from home than Roehampton (sounds counter intuitive but treatment for conditions like this is very difficult and emotional and I wanted to make...

Re: Eveline Day School - anyone had experience/have any views?

The Parsley Song - if you don't want to take my word for it, I would contact the SCHOOL not the nursery for their Leavers Destination Lists. For what it's worth my own son is starting at Alleyns in Sept, he also got a Scholarship to Dulwich College. My advice going forward would to be to not take fi...

Warm (er) swimming pool

I wonder if anyone can recommend a warmish swimming pool? I took my kids to Balham Leisure Centre yesterday and I found the water really unpleasantly cold. You have to keep moving all the time to keep warm which shortens diving practice and other games! I am told by Balham Leisure centre that the te...

Re: Giving up buying BTC - What about Balham?

Now is also an excellent time to buy if you can find a realistic seller who wants to get moving. An article on the front page of the Times this past Saturday puts it far more eloquently than I can (and with lots of back up figures), but in short the housing market is at a standstill. Prices are stil...

Re: Property management advice

http://hjpm.co.uk Helena Jackson Property Management. She is an independent property manager and she looked after my house for 3 years while abroad and I found her fantastic. There are lots of great reviews for her on this site - personally I loved not being answerable to, or paying, a high street a...

Re: Tooting Broadway- Vant road, yes or no

I live in Tooting Bec but would not buy a house in Vant Road for the reasons stated above about anti social behaviour. The littering, bad driving, spitting is bad enough in the Bec it gets worse further South. Just my opinion I am sure many would disagree with me
