Did you know about Omnibus youth theatre Actors Alive?

Actors Alive runs every Saturday morning during term time for 5-15 year olds. If you're interested, why not come along to their next performances this weekend (Sat 19 Mar, 2pm and 7pm). I volunteer at Omnibus Clapham, the multi-arts venue in Clapham Old Town, which has a fantastic programme of fami...

Re: Boiler maintenance - local company?

We have a Keston which was a good idea at the time of installation, but has caused us problems. Funnily enough one of those problems (hidden flue) has hopefully been sorted out today by WPJ heating, based near Clapham Junction I think. They couldn't have been more helpful - very efficient, profession...

Winter storytelling this weekend at Clapham Omnibus!

I volunteer at the Clapham Omnibus, the exciting arts venue in Clapham Old Town, and wanted to highlight their interactive winter storytelling season. A delight for the curious minded, the stories are freed from the page to roam about the old Clapham Library building, where the ordinary is transform...

Re: Fitting 3 car seats on back seat

As nuttymummy posted, SMAX all the way! We've had ours for a while and it's given us no problems, it's easy to drive around these streets and fits everything you can imagine in it (especially when you put a box on the top too!) My eldest is now six and twins four, but for a long time we had three of...

Re: Belleville - Meteor Street afterschool care

My sons are in the reception class at Meteor, so hi! My eldest son is also at Meteor and has loved it. As far as I know, there is now a breakfast club at Meteor, but possibly not an after school club yet, although one is in the pipeline. I think the school is able to walk children back over to the m...

Re: Smashed iphone screen-repair in SW11?

Hi

The ifix centre on Battersea rise are very good. Not used them for screens but they offer a very competitive rate I think. They've done work on our laptop before and I found the service very friendly and efficient. http://www.ifixcentre.co.uk

Re: Recommendations for a roofer please

We used Paul Strank & Sons Roofing (www.paulstrankroofing.co.uk) and were very impressed. They were really busy so took a while to get the work arranged but did a great job, with minimal mess and interruption. They clearly knew what they were doing.

Re: Looking for a carpenter for kitchen bits

Hi I've used Garvan, who runs GMG Woodcraft (http://www.gmgwoodcraft.com/). He built two alcove book shelf units and some bedroom storage. He does really good work, was very reliable and came up with some clever designs to make the most of the space we had. He's not cheap but the quality reflects th...

CV writing - how to explain the big gap?

I'm starting to think about finding some part time work after three years out and three children. But what shall I write on my cv?

2008-present - childbearing? Housewife? Homemaker ? Multitasking extraordinaire?!

Any tips very welcome!

Re: Nanny agency in Poole needed

Have thought about taking someone with us, but by the time you've paid for travel (there will be no room in the car!) and hotel costs it gets rather expensive. Although is only one day/eve that we need so may end up doing that. Furthermore, it's got to be someone very confident with three very young...

Nanny agency in Poole needed

Help! We live in SW11 and will be attending a wedding in Poole. We will have our three boys with us (3 year old and 16 month twins) as we are staying on for a holiday but they won't be coming to the wedding itself. Therefore we need childcare. Any recommendations for agencies supplying temporary nan...
