Artificial Grass Company Recommendations please....

Hi everyone Reluctantly decided to go artificial grass route after years of family "debate". Having made the decision we are now completely lost as there are so many suppliers, national and local. Would be really grateful if anyone with recent expensive of having it installed old recommend...

Kitchen Extension Design - need a "U value" Expert

Hi everyone Our current kitchen extension project involves a lot of glass and Lambeth Building Control say we will need a report demonstrating its insulation or U Value properties before the roof can be completed. Bit of a pain having already been granted planning approval and passed all the stages ...

Re: Kitchen recommendations

We have just gone through the same process and having gone down the usual Howdens/Benchmarx/Magnet route for quotes and plans and then wasted lots of time dreaming about bespoke ended up ordering via Homebase of all things on the recommendation of a neighbour. Ask for Charlotte in their Battersea br...

Re: Solar Panels on Roof Advice Please...!

Many thanks for the responses which have been very useful. The companies who have presented their case so far all promise great electricity bill savings (50%+) and offer storage systems for the solar energy generated. They also state that direct light on a cloudy day, not necessarily bright sunlight...

Solar Panels on Roof Advice Please...!

Help everyone My husband is extremely keen for us to have solar panels fitted to our roof to cut our electricity consumption, reduce the bill and most importantly, reduce our home's carbon consumption. In theory it's a no brainer and with Govt subsidies due to be chopped at the end of the year we ne...

Re: House Renovation - any advice / recommendations?

I have to agree with a previous poster about you openning the floodgates to all sorts of "advice" primarily I suspect from self interested parties so good luck. My husband and I have lived through three refurbisments in Lambeth/Wandsworth. For the first we innocently used one of the local ...

Lambeth Country Show was amazing!

This weekend was as good as ever and whilst I'm not the biggest fan of Lambeth Council, hats off to them once again for the best family festival in South London if not the entire capital. To see the whole community just enjoying itself in magnificent Brockwell Park never fails to lift my spirits Kno...

Re: Best app games for toddlers

Must agree with Geo72 although perhaps in less dramatic terms. Wiuld add crayons, pencils and paper to the list though. We got to central africa with 2 connections and delays making it a 24 hr trip on charter type flights without any issues with our 2 year old and 4 year old. Same goes for those bac...

Re: Buy in Streatham or go bigger further out?

Hi there Interesting post. Until a couple of months ago I would have agreed with the other posters but now I'm inclined to agree with your husband. Two of our friends have bought in Peckham, off Queens Road, and New Cross Gate respectively during this period and both have bought absolutely fabulous ...
