Bellevue Restaurant - local hidden gem

Just want to give a shout out to this hidden gem on Trinity Road (near Bellevue Road). Went for dinner last week and had the most wonderful French meal. Fresh ingredients, beautiful cooking and friendly service in a lovely setting. I wanted to post on here, because I could not believe how quiet it ...

Re: Wandsworth Test 2018

While I haven't got experience of the revision course advertised here, I can highly recommend Katherine as a tutor - which my daughter attended weekly while in Year 5. I really like the fact that Katherine just helps each child build their confidence and familiarity of a test environment - she is no...

Re: Need Help. Wife using my children.

Sorry to hear you are going through a tough time Both of you will need to learn to communicate with each other for the sake of your children. That means that you should indeed be able to see your children, but you also pay your ex maintenance. If she looks after the children, then she will no doubt ...

Re: Chestnut Grove feedback

Chestnut Grove had an open evening yesterday - which we went to. It's difficult to form an opinion on the environment because the whole school is moving into their brand new building next year and the current 70's building / monstrosity is going to be demolished (to be replaced by green space and ot...

Re: Working Parents! Need your advice please!

Unless both parents are able to share drop-off and pick up (say one does the mornings and the other starts work early but picks up in the evening) then nurseries are tricky for working parents. A small number of nurseries offer extended hours (7.30am to 6.30pm) but that's not the majority. A nanny o...

Re: Planning for school holidays !

Sadly there is no such thing as a reasonably priced holiday once you hit school age. For flights, it pays off to book early (6 months + in advance) as there are always a small number of cheap seats on any flight. For package holidays and hotels there is little way out of paying double the price for ...

Re: Mummy and baby in need of social life

hi there, one way to meet other mums with babies and also exercise is buggyfit. They have one going on Clapham Common and also - I think - Wandsworth Common. It's about £8 per class but you can buy them cheaper if you pay for multiple classes in advance. http://www.buggyfit.co.uk Although it was a f...

Re: Yoga classes

Hi - just throwing it in the yoga mix, but there is a wonderful Bikram Yoga Studio in Balham - on Hildreth Street - called Hot Yoga South. They do a deal for beginners £45 for 30 days - so you can try it and decide if it's for you (although be prepared to hate your first class as the heat can be a b...

Re: Neilson vs Mark Warner v Club Med

Hi - have done quite a few Club Med holidays (Turkey, Malaysia, Italy, Tunisia) and all have been amazing. Accommodation can be simple in some of the 3 Trident Clubs (but always clean and very well setup) but the overall holiday is very high end. The childcare and the food are particularly amazing. ...

Re: Anya Salon Balham - be warned

Agree with LuluDaffodil - no excuse for shoddy and potentially dangerous equipment. I have however used the salon for haircut and eyebrow threading and they are very good with fairly reasonable prices
