Re: Hypnobirthing query

My friend, Melanie Bearne, is amazing. www.betterbirthstories.com

She runs courses for couples and also private lessons. Lots of people have recommended her, and as a person, she is kind, friendly, approachable and calm. If I had a third baby I'd be booking in with her straight away! Good luck!

Re: Broomwood Montessori nursery - SW11's best kept secret

Another vote for this amazing nursery! My eldest child went there for 2 years and thrived. She absolutely loved it, and started school full of confidence and academically ahead. The staff are just lovely, and really know how to recognize and treat each child as an individual, and to bring out the be...

Re: 40th home cocktail party caterers

www.octaviaskitchen.co.uk

This is my sister's business. She has catered for many of my dinner parties and my son's christening, she has worked freelance for a well-known catering company, done fashion and corporate events, and is very good, and very experienced.

Re: How does nanny pay work if only employing 2 days a week and another family employ for 3?

We had exactly this situation- ditto what Pie81 says.

It's a pain if the first employer won't split the tax code though, as you do end up paying a lot more!

In the end, we went with a nursery instead.

Re: Mayfield gymnastics hascancelled boys gymnastics

My daughter's gymnastics teacher at school recommended Heathrow, because she thought she was pretty good at gymnastics, and Mayfield wouldn't push her enough. She was on the waiting list for Mayfield and I never heard from them (!) so I decided to take her for a trial at Heathrow. It is the best thi...

Re: Siblings sharing a room until how old?

We have a 3.5 yr age gap (a girl first, then a boy), who are currently almost 7 and 3.5. We are in no position to move house. We have a 2 bed flat, and they share (mostly!) happily. I don't think there is a 'right' age-however, in hindsight, if we could have stretched ourselves a bit further at the ...

Re: summer camps, etc.

Activ camps is probably your best bet as they can go from 8.30 am until 5.30 pm but it's a LONG and tiring day as pretty much all sports based! My daughter loved it though. A more gentle one is Arty Party which is 9.00-3.30 I think, my daughter LOVES these! Also the schools out clubs attached to sta...

Re: Advice re going from 2 to 3

We are having a similar discussion, so I'm following this with interest! We also have one of each, but older (6 and 3) so are really out of the baby stage... Money is also a huge consideration for us too. I'm lucky that I'm younger (31) but I also don't want to have too big a gap if we do go for it!...

Re: First time pregnant..... NHS v/s private anxiety

I had both my children at the Kensington Wing at C&W. It was amazing, and I received excellent care. If we have a third, we will save the money and do it again, BUT it is very, very expensive. I had emergency c-sections with both mine, which meant the postnatal stay (and therefore cost) was high...

Re: Post natal Mother's Help available?

Have you thought about a postnatal doula? I had one after my second child, and she was AMAZING! They are not cheap (£20 p/h) but it was money well spent for us. She did everything you list (and much, much more!) and was a huge help. PM me if you would like her details. You can also search Doula UK t...
