Re: Living in Saudi Arabia

Friends looked into this very closely when husband was offered a job in Riyadh. In the end he went on his own and wife and children stayed in UK. He came back every 8 weeks or so and they went out a few times and travelled around. It was tough going but they survived. Think he did it for around two/...

Re: Which Managing Agent SW11?!!

Another vote for Rampton Baseley. They have been looking after our house for six years. Really professional and very nice people. Thoroughly recommend.

Re: Downstairs toilets vs bigger kitchen

Totally opposite opinion here! Never had one. Whenever I go to houses with downstairs loo feels tiny and squeezed in and like you’re almost in the kitchen! Had two small children and managed fine. Loo was just at top of first flight of stairs. Nicely separate from kitchen but not exactly far! And ch...

Central London restaurant recommendations needed!

Am taking a good friend out for dinner to mark a very significant birthday and would like to go somewhere special that manages to be fun and buzzy, without being formal and fancy or too young and hip! Delicious food also important! Central London. Would be grateful for any ideas.

Re: Kitchen companies - views on Blakes, Eclectic, Sola and others?

Jolanta at Eclectic was fantastic. They were very efficient and experienced. Was delighted with their service. Have many friends who used her too, which is why we went with them. Do PM me if you would like more info. Would happily recommend them.

Re: Mayfield Gymnastics - worth the money?!

Our daughter was a member of Mayfield for many years and she absolutely thrived - it was her favourite part of the week. Not sure about the other clubs you mention though so can't compare. They are very professional and it feels like a serious club. The classes are (from memory) at least 1.5 hours -...

Travel Designers are fab!

Firstly, I am not affiliated with the company at all, but have just booked our second family holiday through James at Travel Designers - an independent agency in Balham. I just really wanted to recommend them. They are so professional and experienced and show endless amounts of patience and good hum...

Re: Fisher Paykel refrigerators

Well we love ours - although was shocked that the motor went when it was less than two years old. Was under warranty and their customer services was good - although based in New Zealand. And still left our tenants with no fridge for a couple of weeks which was not great. Have had many much cheaper f...

Re: Is it worth doing a major refurbishment of a kitchen?

Do the whole thing. Personally I don't think you can lose - as long as you can afford to borrow the extra money of course. Your house will be bought or rented on the kitchen. We faced identical dilemma and bit the bullet. You may end up with a bit of a 'better than it was but not brilliant' situatio...
