Re: Doggy day care.

No but I can highly recommend SW dogs, Jules is amazing with dog daycare and has been looking after my dog for over two years, while I’m in the office. (he’s on Instagram)

Re: Self tan cream recommendation

Hi, I have had so many compliments for my tan, which people thought had come from a tropical holiday abroad! Thought I’d share as I’ve not been anywhere further than Cornwall this year… it glides on brilliantly if you use a tanning mitt and the colour is very very nice. It doesn’t smell bad either. ...

Re: Private school officials called Labour’s Bridget Phillipson ‘chippy’ as it steps up campaign against VAT on schools

Totally agree Rubysmum2013. I think a lot of this is hot air. Labour would love to implement this immediately, but in practice it will surely take a few years to actually prepare for… with a mass exodus of children moving into state, we would definitely have to move all ours across as we couldn’t af...

Re: Child with ADHD

Hi, the SENCO at La Retraite is second to none. We are blown away by the support our daughter receives. The team are I’d say, one of the largest at any secondary and every SEN child gets lots of individual support. We had almost lost hope but since our daughter started here her confidence has been r...

Re: Advice needed on SEN support Secondary school please

Yes this process has been a revelation to us. The state school she’s at has smaller class sizes than most, but the SEN students are put into groups of 10 or 15 and also have 1-1 support so that’s what sets it apart. The private schools put on an amazing show about all the facilities they have to off...

Re: Advice needed on SEN support Secondary school please

Our daughter has SEN and is going into year 10 next term. We have tried two different schools who claim to have amazing Senco facilities. It feels like we have been on a treadmill for years now as we have found these independent schools so often seem to fall short of their promises. I’ve met up with...

Re: Did you mind if you didn't receive a gift for giving birth?

Love what everyone has shared on here (except Lepresident). I was so happy to have had a healthy baby, having gone through two weeks of him in the special unit following emergency c section.. the best gift was being able to take him home. Where have these absurd expectations come from? Other women s...

Re: teacher trying to humiliate ny son in front of class

Wholeheartedly agree with Number28 too- very well said. This turned my stomach. Utterly humiliating to make a 9 year old stand in front of class and do that. Completely inappropriate of the teacher to have done this and I’d be going into the school to have a meeting and find out how they thought thi...

Re: Utility Bills

Hi SW11er, I too was shocked by our winter bills- same size Victorian house as yours. We are with British Gas and getting bills of £900 pm for combined usage. We have the thermostat on 18 and heat only coming on twice a day so we are chilly a lot of the time but still exorbitant costs. I can’t get t...

Re: Increase in out of control dogs on the common?

Agreed re too many incompetent dog owners who bought dogs in lockdown and have no idea how to keep them under control. There are just too many dogs in London, not just Clapham Common but in every park in London. It’s all over the news, how people bought during Covid and now are trying to give them a...
