Re: State schools in Earlsfield

There are a couple of schools closer but all parents I know that have had children in the schools have removed them at the first opportunity. Beatrix and Earlsf...

Re: Changing gas hob to induction - help

having done that same thing here are some bits of information you will need to cap off the gas, so you will need someone who is a gas-safe registered engineer. most 5 station induction hobs need a 30amp supply, so unless you have one, a new ring main will need to be installed (cables from your consu...

Re: Keep Wandsworth Clean: Litter fines increased

'Tis a shame WBC cannot empty their litter bins on the WBC side from Clapham Common. Many's a time I have walked past overflowing bins on the common along Nightingale Lane to Clapham South Tube. It is not good enough for WBC to blame the public. If there is a need for weekly, daily or hourly litter ...

Re: primary schools in tooting

I have had two children at Fircroft and still have one. Your children will enjoy their time at Fircroft. I echo all the points raised earlier in the conversation. I add though that if you want your child to be in with a chance at Graveney or a grammar or an academic independent, you will have to hav...

Re: Get your education questions answered

independent 6th form, or independent secondary, or independent primary or independent all the way through?? Why do I bring this up? Because many independent educated children are switching to a state 6th form (grammar or other) in order to get the Russell group place via the slanted entrance system....

Re: Consultation over lorry ban in Earlsfield

WBC why the ban is needed. the traffic flow is so poor on the main routes because so many traffic lights and junctions have automated red lights and four way junctions automate to have all directions on a red with no one crossing. Get rid of traffic lights and introduce roundabouts to increase traff...

Re: High flying lawyer sacks pregnant nanny - loses tribunal

He does seem a bit of an idiot for sacking an employee during pregnancy. I will assume she was directly employed, ie not through an agency. He would not be responsible for any maternity or paternity pay, am I right? In which case he could have hired another nanny on a fixed term contract. Perhaps he...
