Re: Bolingbroke Academy

‘Victorian workhouse-type place’

My daughter is gobsmacked and laughing at the same time about Bolingbroke being referred to like this.... but it’s 08:10am so I have the cane out and I’m threatening to use it if she doesn’t leave the house to get to school on time.

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

My daughter is in Year 7 at Bolingbroke and absolutely loves it. She’s had one detention for forgetting her homework. She’s had a couple of negative house points and she’s had hundreds of positive house points. Some of her friends get a couple of detentions a week but they also get positive house po...

Re: Great swimming classes for children

There are some great teachers at the Latchmere too. Ask for Lucas or Alan - they are both very good.

Re: Great swimming classes for children

Leander? They have a swimming academy. Places are in demand but if you persevere you'll (your child) will get invited for a trial.

I've just started training on the common with Ed Workouts and wanted to post about how good it is. I'm used to working ou...

Sash Windows

We are looking at replacing 2 bay windows (3 panels each), plus 4 single sash windows. We've had a quote from sliding sash solutions. Has anybody on here used them before? Please let us know how you got on. The quote is c£18k plus VAT. Does that sound right? Their main selling point seems to be the ...

Re: Bolingbroke Academy, thoughts?

As a parent who is considering Bolingbroke Academy amongst other state and private secondaries there are several things I don’t like about this thread. Firstly, the negative feedback on Google (which is no way constructive) and secondly the fact that someone feels the need to highlight this Google p...

Re: Private or State Primary?

I'd say - see the outstanding state primary through to the end. It's not really fair to jump ship after the several years of outstanding (and free!) education your child will have received there.

Re: Chivalry Road Playground / Bolingbroke Academy

Why is the school getting all the blame? What happens at home from a really early age surely has a more significant impact on behaviour. These kids have been at Bolingbroke for less than 2 years (at most). Even the best school in the world would not be able to stamp out all bad behaviour in 2 years ...
