Re: Harp lesson interest

Hi, I would potentially be interested for my daughter but can’t work out how to PM you. Please could you try PMing me? Many thanks

Re: HELP! Newton Prep/The Roche or Broomwood Hall

Those posh / jeans / sports day rumours always make me laugh but I can assure you that in 4 years as a Broomwood parent I’ve never seen any evidence of them being true! It’s a gorgeous school and both my children are so happy there. Do feel free to PM me if there’s anything you want a current parent...

Re: Looking for advice

Hi coolmum, condolences to you on the loss of your friend (and also to the other posters who have lost loved ones). I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts / suggestions... Memories are so precious and having lost a parent as a teenager, people sharing their memories with me has always been real...

Re: Best nurseries for a Broomwood Hall school run

If you're looking for a day care nursery I can highly recommend Nightingales Nursery (it's part of St Francis Xavier College near Clapham South tube so is great if you need to commute into the city - couldn't tell from your post exactly what you are looking for). It's about a 10 min walk from Broomw...

Re: How do you choose a hospital?

One thing to add is that whatever decision you make, it's not irreversible. I started off booked in at one hospital for my first baby but at around 28 weeks I felt a bit unsure so went to my GP to get referred to C&W. I was very happy with my care there and had my second baby there a couple of y...

Re: Moving to London - what about Broomwood Hall??

In my humble opinion it's a great school :-) I'd say it's worth getting in touch with the admissions team to find out the situation re availability / waiting lists given the age of your child(ren) as you never know, you might be lucky! You mentioned in your other post that you have a child due to st...

Re: Antenatal courses - Lulubaby, Bump & Baby or NCT?

I did an NCT antenatal course to prepare for the birth of my first child, and I also did a refresher course before having my second. In my opinion the "ignore everything they tell you" comment is a bit harsh :-) As someone who was having an uncomplicated pregnancy, was keen to have as &quo...

Re: Recommendations for a beauty salon/therapist needed!

If you fancy trying a mobile therapist rather than a salon I would massively recommend Jade from Blume Beauty. She has a website you'll be able to google. She is great with hot wax and does amazing facials too (plus loads of other treatments). She's also absolutely lovely!

Re: Nearly new baby clothes - where can i donate?

Little Village (a local organisation supporting local families) would I'm sure appreciate them. I think they often particularly need things for slightly older children (over age 1). They have a web page you can google if you want to find out more.

Re: Help- dad needing help for a party entertainer!

The only one I have experience of from your list is Amanda's Action Club - they did my daughter's third birthday party and it was great. Another one for you to look at is Dollypop parties who we used for the same daughter's fourth birthday this year. Lorraine was AMAZING - she came as Sleeping Beaut...

Re: Parents will help with school fees but want to decide on the school

I've not been in a similar situation but did have a couple of thoughts which may or may not be helpful.... Your post mentions "hints" which suggests your parents-in-law have not said outright that they think the school should be their choice. Hopefully that gives you and your husband the o...

Re: Cleaner - holiday pay?

In answer to the original question, we pay our cleaner when we're on holiday but she still comes and uses the time to do spring clean type jobs (also, if we're only away for a week, unless she cleans on the day we leave, the house always needs a bit of a clean from the time we've been there and ditt...

Re: Consultation on new park at Springfield Hospital site

The london golf centre is a five minute (if that) walk from my house - technically there are two corners along the way so perhaps I should have been more specific ;) I haven't always lived in this house though. I used to live between the commons. I've not looked back at any of my previous posts but ...

Re: Consultation on new park at Springfield Hospital site

Like jtn, I live just round the corner (from both the Springfield site and the central London golf centre as they're right next door to each other....) so I'm fairly sure I qualify as a local :D I'm certainly in favour of golf facilities being retained. I'm no golfer myself but my husband (who isn't...

Re: Farrow and ball- worth it?

If you're looking to get paint colour matched, Valspar is good. B&Q stock it. They have an overwhelming range of "off the shelf" colours plus they can colour match to create custom colours. I've not used it to match Farrow & Ball but I did get the background of some wallpaper in my...
