Re: Baby Sleep Consultant

Kathryn Mewes is very, very expensive, and I'm not sure solved all our problems. I'd be tempted to try someone a bit more reasonable. She is lovely, but I think she overcharges for some very common sense advice.

Re: Blinds in children's room - found the solution!

Good idea - worth a go! They weren't expensive anyway. My husband can't believe I'm so excited about blackout blinds, but with a 19 month old that barely sleeps through the night and another one due any second now this has made my day! :D

Re: Blinds in children's room - found the solution!

Hi Supergirl - OMG this is exactly what I posted a couple of months ago looking for!!! Sadly I had to go for a velcro hand made version - but this is brilliant!! I may just have to pay twice for something that actually works. A sleep consultant had told me they exist but I couldn't find them anywher...

Re: Surviving a C-section with a toddler

Bisciuit brown - the NHS make you jump through a lot of hoops to get an elective, I was at StTs which is notoriously against elective (although aren't they all) but they are obliged to give you one if after all the hoop jumping it is still what you want so if you can hang in there it is worth it an...

Re: Surviving a C-section with a toddler

I'm feeling your pain! I am due to have an elective in May, my little girl will be 20 months old. I decided to go for an elective after a lot of deliberation, mainly because I had a very traumatic labour and emergency c-section with every hospital cock-up and intervention under the sun with my first...

spring clean/deep clean recommendations

Hi, we've been staying in my father's flat since christmas, while we've had builders in our house, and a toddler and two crazed cats have definitely left their mark on the place. Can anyone recommend cleaners who can do a really good thorough job? We need something on the scale of a spring c...

Re: Amber teething

I got one from Amber Pumpkin last year (online) - really nice necklace, not expensive and good service. I think they had to offer everyone refunds after EU regulations deemed them not safe under 3, so I hope they are still in business...

Re: Nightingale triangle catchment area?

It sounds like it is a bit pot luck for our area depending on year and number of siblings going - but I think you are more likely to get in on Chestnut Grove than we are. Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. :(

Lisa at All About the Girl on Northcote Rd is good. I had mine done for the first time last weekend and am very happy with the results.

Re: Meeting new mums with second babies - Balham

Hi, I'm due to have my 2nd at end of May and was wondering the same thing. I'm in Balham too. Someone told me that you can do NCT refresher courses, although I haven't looked into it yet... I've met quite a few people in the same situation through classes like Tin Pan Annie though.

Re: CLEAN swimming pool for 1yr old

Hi, agree with previous poster, Clapham Manor is brand new, clean changing facilities (although only one cubicle with baby changer) and both big and little pool are clean.

Re: Nightingale triangle catchment area?

CTwo - thanks. I've heard similar. Hope you got a place somewhere you were happy with.
