Re: 10 year old daughter wanting to connect with other children with an autistic sibling for book idea

A lovely idea. I’ve shared with my 13 yr old nephew who lives with his 15 yr old autistic sister and I know can find it challenging.

Hoping he may share his experience.

Also would love to know more on how to purchase the book once complete.

Re: can i take my family overseas away from elderly grandparents?

Congrats on the job offer! We lived in SW11, two children and moved last year to Switzerland for work. Admittedly not as far as the US. My sister-in-law however was in the US for many years with her two children. So one side of the family are used to the overseas grandchildren - and were happy we we...

Re: Pilates and Yoga classes on Friday mornings?

Bliss Pilates on Altenburg Gardens with Shereen (she has an app, pink with a stretchy person logo!). She's lovely - very individual attention.

Or Four Sides on Northcote Road.

Re: Can anyone lend some skiing gear today for a 6/7 y old and an adult? Tips for first skiing with young kids?

FARA often have some great deals on kids ski wear around this time of year - check there, or Decathlon online. TK Maxx too.

Re: Cooking "Experience" Day ideas?

We did a team event recently at Leiths which was excellent - prepped and cooked a fabulous three course meal which we sat and ate (with wine) afterwards. Left with the recipes, some books and a goodie bag!

Just over near Hammersmith, so easily commutable.

Re: My 8 years old has been exposed to ****** by a friend - not sure what else to do

So upsetting to read, and sadly I have also experienced similar (to a lesser degree) with two children at one of my child's schools. It's all very well to keep your child away, but I absolutely believe you have a duty to push this as far as you can, obviously to alert the school and protect your own...

Re: What's the going rate for an au pair in London?

We pay £120 pw plus an automatically topped up Oyster for travel. She works 3 days (both children at school) plus a couple of nights babysitting if/when required. As per a previous poster, you can start at a level you’re comfortable with and update once you’ve had some experience in how good/useful/...

Re: Claimsing share of exe’s pension

Simply make the pensions provider (the local government) aware of its existence in the first place. Before they pay out to the current wife (or anyone else), as that could make things more difficult!

Re: Claimsing share of exe’s pension

Payment of any pensions will be bound by the Trust Deed and Rules of the LG pension. So she (you!) may have to approach the Trustee to exercise their discretion. These days you have pension sharing orders put in place on divorce which makes things simpler in the end .... I assume she didn’t/doesn’t ...

Looking for a new live-in au pair - BTC

Dear all,

We’re a family with two daughters (6 and 12) looking for a new au pair to start any time in the next month or so.

Should you know of anyone, or if you’re an au pair yourself and are looking I’d love to hear from you!

Further detail upon application/message.

Many thanks,

Laura

Re: School Mums Class Night Out - Any suggestions?

Cheese, art and wine painting club at the Althorp was awesome! Exactly as it says on the tin - eat cheese, drink wine, instructed painting and you take your work home. No experience required and the results were astounding, great teacher and so therapeutic. Also, Four Thieves in CJ for something a l...

Re: Honeywell School or local private prep?

Honeywell to Independent Secondary is more like 40%, to be accurate - and has been 40 to 50% for some time. Much of that is choice, since many are (rightly so) very happy with Bolingbroke as a State secondary option. http://fluencycontent2-schoolwebsite.netdna-ssl.com/FileCluster/HoneywellInfantJuni...
