Re: Wanted: a Flute

Hi Star, so my daughter had a free year at school playing the french horn and wanted to continue but like your daughter is already doing piano, and horns are also ridiculously expensive. I found a brand called Elkhart and spoke with her music teacher at school. Although he said you have to beware of...

Re: Ball Games Area - Chivalry Road

That is great thanks NorthcoteRoadLover. Appreciate very much the council's speedy response on this and totally agree with you re weekends and school holidays. I accept there are opportunities whilst the kids are in school, but would be perfectly balanced if the area was kept free as implied when th...

Ball Games Area - Chivalry Road

Last year the ball games area behind the Chivalry Road playground underwent a refurbishment with the council calling it a community project for all to enjoy. Fast forward six months later and to my and my friends dismay, this area is now being hired out to private clubs during the week. Our sons are...

Re: Veronica Calabro

I would report it straight away Judi. I've been using Ebay a lot over the past three years and by the time Ebay and Paypal take their fees (which amount to 20%), it would not be worth someone's time to take 10% unless you were talking high value goods in the hundreds/thousands. I know it doesnt help...

Re: Wetherspoons to close The Moon Under Water

Tim Martin the founder and CEO of Wetherspoons is one the highest profile Brexit backers. He's turned his pubs into an outlet for his political opinions from placing Leave propaganda beermats on the tables, removing French and German beers from the pubs, replacing champagne with British sparkling wi...

Re: People’s Vote March Saturday 20th October - please come along and make this huge! Brexit can still be stopped

I'm going with a bunch of friends GuyD73. Its our last opportunity before March. As TAP says, the marches have been friendly, unifying and really quite uplifting. At the last one I saw people from all walks of life... families, older people in wheelchairs, groups of young guys. Some are loud singers...

Re: Police on bramfield road - any idea what happened?

There was another mugging later on on Saturday night on Wakehurst Road at 8.30pm, so these guys were obviously on a roll this weekend. They mugged at man at knifepoint with his wife and two girls for his watch. Re nextdoor, in your settings go to the email option, you can choose to narrow down what ...

Re: SW11 mugged at knifepoint in front of our 3 kids

Guys, this link is starting to do the rounds. Its a chance for us to tell the Met about how we feel about what is happening and get something done. Please choose the "moped enable theft and robbery"  - the numbers are going up rapidly as its been posted on next door and is gaining some traction wher...

Re: Bolingbroke medical centre - any views?

Also happy with the medical centre and agree with other two posters. I think the tardy doctor is there to have long lovely chats with the regular senior members of our community, you'll figure out soon enough which one he is! Dr Hima is brilliant with both kids and adults, and also the one I go for....

Re: Attempted mugging Wakehurst Road (scooter for watch)

A few people have now commented about red horn/fire type things on the helmet. Maybe we are talking about the same 2 people here committing all these watch muggings. I'm truly sorry about your experience King Arthur.

Re: SW11 mugged at knifepoint in front of our 3 kids

Private police forcing is a great idea for keeping your own and immediate surrounding streets safe but we could get mugged anywhere in SW London now. It would definitely help keep your mopeds and cars from being stolen and your houses from being burgled, but unless it is taken up on a massive scale,...

Re: SW11 mugged at knifepoint in front of our 3 kids

The issue we have is just a few months ago, the government were still denying that police cuts have anything to do with rising crime numbers, despite leaked reports from the Home Office saying it does, and despite Sadiq publicly saying so. So the people in charge dont actually think we need more pol...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Ratski, you are totally wrong about the fish van owner. It is still owned by the same guy (Jim) who had the shop from the start. He had a partner (Joe) who retired a couple of years ago and was a face you probably remember. Before that they had a younger guy run the stall who left to become a cabbie...

Re: Home Away (owners direct) nightmare

Hi catboo1, yeah I can see what you mean about the review. If you had the support of the site it would make it easier, I understand. The whole thing is so unfair on you - I'm so sorry and thanks for highlighting it to us. I will definitely avoid owners direct in the future.
