Re: Visit The Stables Café at Orleans House

I loved this place when mine was younger as somewhere that was lovely and big and didn’t worry about buggies being in way as plenty of space to put them to one side. Also great and safe outside space plus on Fridays there’s a see saw club for pre schoolers at the gallery (from memory think it’s free...

Re: Can anyone recommend a consultant to advise on C section or not.

I can also recommend Vasso Terzidou. We had similar issue and she was excellent at giving information and allowing us to choose. Also one of the first Dr’s to start practicing ‘natural’ C-sections if that’s the way you choose to go. (And incidentally other Dr’s have commented on neatness of my scar ...

Re: Laser hair removal

I’ve used Sheer Laser Clinic (Church St, Twickenham) and 100% recommend. Marilyn will not do it if she doesnt think it will work well (I think in general it is harder to do on fair hair) and I’ve had a number of friends go to her who are also v pleased (and like I said another who went but was told ...

Re: To Use or Not to Use the Same Names as Friends

From being on the other end of this - I’d say use it, but maybe mention it first! Our good friends (who we see a lot) named their DD same as ours. Was a bit surprised when sent out birth announcement that she hadn’t mentioned it beforehand but of course understood was always their choice for a name ...

Re: Going to the Maldives with children

We went to Per Aquum Niyama. I believe they are the only ones in Maldives to take very young children (although all ages around 3-4 when we were there) in their kids club. We didn’t use it for whole days as so enjoyed snorkelling and swimming together but it was beautiful shaded area in centre of is...

Re: Independent advice for laser eye surgery

Another vote for Moorfields. Have a look through the different consultants (you pay for consultant and hospital time as obv a non NHS procedure). But you get the best eye hospital and Drs in the country. My consultation was £150 as a guide and very comprehensive tests for this to show whether it’s a...

Re: Place to stay in Rome

We just did this and were pleased with our Hotel Victoria as being central enough to walk to everything but also next to the park which had a playground (ours a bit younger). Villa borghese (the park) also has an outdoor cinema and kids museum. Hotel bit 80s style but spotlessly clean and good value...

We need a secure side gate to the garden fitted with a keypad entry system. Has anyone had anything similar and would you recommend who you used? And also approximate cost?
Many thanks

Re: Boiling water tap

I don't have combination Quooker but the one on it's own. The cupboard space is minimal - a cyclinder about the size of a small fire extinguisher. And well worth it- means you don't need space kettle for a start and I use for everything in cooking- pasta, veg, stock as well as making tea. Everyone I...

Re: Door steps salesman issue

Totally agree re calling out unacceptable doorstep tactics However just to provide a review of the flowers- I currently have 3 vases full of beautiful flowers at home as they last so well. I genuinely never see a bunch for £20 in shops that is half as nice. Friends always comment on them and everyon...

Re: Would you be happy for your child to spend the day outdoors in a t-shirt today???

Yes I would.
Husband just the same as my child and doesn't feel the cold. Wears shorts and t-shirts whatever the weather. Uncomfortably hot and sweaty otherwise. I'd be annoyed if you pulled me up on it tbh so hope the nanny wasn't too offended :/

Re: Mums? What about dads?

Perhaps if Benaldo hadn't used the word sexist there wouldn't have been such outrage. But he is right re the branding. If there was a site for top executives (following cons on this thread stating there's a majority of men) - and their logo was a man with a briefcase in blue, and their default welco...

Richmond area prep schools

We have been looking at the websites of a few local prep schools and one of the important criteria for us is class size. However a lot of the schools say 'small' without specifying what that is. Old Vicarage has max 15 - but can anyone tell me what the actual class sizes are for Newland House, Twick...
