Re: Do fee paying schools offer help if you get into financial difficulty

When my husband became ill we approached our son's (he had been there for 3 years) private school expecting them to be flexible and thinking there may have been a "hardship fund" of some sort. We were  disappointed to find that, although sympathetic the message was - no -  no real help at all, even ...

Re: Please DON'T buy H. Forman and son smoked salmon from Waitrose (Lance Forman MEP has heinous bigoted views) - boycot

I asked for evidence of heinous bigotry and all we get is a weak joke which you subjectively think is proof of bigotry? You can't even find one actual quote on twitter to support this - but instead expect us to trawl a hundred pages of twitter feed to find something that offends you? If you are so s...

Re: Please DON'T buy H. Forman and son smoked salmon from Waitrose (Lance Forman MEP has heinous bigoted views) - boycot

Denwand, dear dear, thought you'd been banned for life, what a shame. Still a loon then?  If anyone has any sensible, reasoned arguments as to why Mr Forman's views are not abhorrent, I'd be genuinely interested to hear them.      Banned for what pray? Disagreeing with you?  Accusing people ...

"Heinous bigoted views" Please give a direct quote of this MEP so we can judge rather than the manic spittle-flecked stream-of-consciousness hearsay, tittle tattle that includes every scores of people not even in his party or where he happened to approve of a totally unrelated comment. As usual it's...

Re: The $500 blender

In my experience domestic grade blenders are ok for blending liquids but show them some ice cubes and it's motor burnout time. We use a Blendtec which is very reliable (and used by most coffee shop chains for smoothies and shakes ) they are cheaper than yours starting at "only" £400...However if Pre...

Re: Backyard Cinema announce plans for permanent 250-seat Wandsworth site

What a great development!

I love submersive theatre and the extension to cinema is an exciting development.

As far as I can see this a similar enterprise to "Secret Cinema" ... Bring it on!

Hi all recently had a great experience at two Garratt Lane restaurants in an area that doesn't get much footfall unless you live there. 1) Amrutha just before the "squiggle"  at 326 Garratt Lane (just before the two lawnmower repair shops that don't seem to have changed since WW2)...I'm not a vegan ...

Dear NVN

just seen this sign put up outside my house

Since I own an umbrella I think it's burglars trying to target me as,,

"An older person who struggles with umbrella" or

"Someone with piles of cash lives here"

Should I call the Police?
