Re: Users and residents of Burntwood Lane - Much needed changes to speed restrictions and road layout.

Thanks for your presumption KatherineHepburn two points again; 1) What gave you the presumptive idea that I supported your petition? 😁 2) Where did you read from my points that I wanted the borough to go back to 30mph everywhere? - I do not Please stop trying to manipulate my post by inserting with ...

Re: Users and residents of Burntwood Lane - Much needed changes to speed restrictions and road layout.

It may surprise many of you to know that Burntwood Lane (unlike all of the surrounding roads including Magdalene Road) has remained at 30mph. This is regularly exceeded by cars, motorbikes and lorries heading up and down the road at any speed which suits them.   Three points; 1) Burntwood Lane is a...

Re: What weed or plant is this?

I recommend the PistureThis app - but it's rather better at identifying tree types and with the millions of flora types it cannot id everything - still useful though - I found a tiny oak and an ash tree growing in my garden!

"Tideway Traffic Only" signs and the blocking off / reducing of Trinity Road from 3 to 2 lanes Mystery explained!

Hi all I was puzzled why the top of Trinity Road where it meets Wandsworth roundabout had been altered from three to two lanes (with a huge cycle lane 10 meters wide?) and part of the slipway down from East Hill seemingly permanently separated off with crash barriers  with signs saying "Tideway Traf...

Re: Recommending Wash Doctors for your car

Like most mobile car cleaning services they seem to use no water to rinse off dirt first but rely solely on chemicals to clean the car. I'm sure this works well on a car that's already clean but most cars will be covered in a layer of dust ( if not some mud and bird-poo or tree sap ) when they turn ...

Coronavirus Supermarket Etiquette???

Hi all, doing a supermarket shop I find most people are responsible and considerate, keeping the required 2 meter distance in queues and in the aisles. However; Whenever I see someone browsing in a section I want to visit I stand and wait for them to leave before moving in and picking what I want - ...

Opinions Please! - Is replacing our only household bath with a shower a good idea?

Hi all really interested in your opinions. We have a downstairs utility room with a loo/shower cubicle /hand basin and and upstairs family bathroom with a bath with Mira shower at one end (plus loo and basin) I can't remember the last time I had a bath instead of a shower - and my husbands reckons h...

Re: Beware - Balham Waitrose Scammers !

Looks similar to a man who approached me in Northcote road some months ago - speaking french - asking where he could buy a parking ticket. We were 10 meters from a machine and when I directed him to it he pulled a bunch of £50 notes (at least £500 worth)  :o   and comically, tried to feed one into t...

Re: Northcote Village?

"Northcote Village"???

Sounds pure Estate-Agentese to me

Estate Agents have been kicking around (with their pointy shoes)  "Abbeville Village" for decades but it's seldom, if ever,  referred to as such outside of their branches!  😆

Re: Amazon scam warning: 'Hang up immediately' say police

They are persistent too.

I had several calls over the space of three weeks, I got so fed up I challenged the human "handler" that he was a scam. expecting him to hang up, but he casually defended himself and insisted he wasn't - brazen!
