Wandsworth council fines

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this? I am guessing it isn't unique to our cluster of streets, but probably happening in the wider area -we have had a problem with gangs stealing bin bags and litter from bins in our front gardens on our local roads. Some of it is t...

Ballet for boys

Can anyone recommend a ballet school in the area that takes boys?

My son has just started reception and is missing his nursery ballet classes.

It is mostly something that will be done for fun, rather than serious training!

Many thanks

Dog and child owners be on guard at Winterville

Just a quick warning regarding Winterville. It was an unlucky incident and could happen anywhere, but we attended the Okido session at Winterville with our preschooler and toddler on Saturday (which was excellent). Afterwards we stopped for a drink in one of the food/drink areas. Shortly after we sa...

Re: ULEZ Expansion Announced

It has been very well publicised that diesel is awful for people's health in recent years. Anyone that bought a car in the last couple of years must have known. Here is an article from the BBC news website from 2012 for example. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18415532 Ultimately we have to balanc...

Re: ULEZ Expansion Announced

I think it is a great idea. The continuing growth of car use in the City is unsustainable.
Being a few roads outside the proposed boundry does concern me though as it may have the effect of increasing traffic in the surrounding residential roads.

Outdoor Toys on Clapham Common

What happened to all the Outdoor Toys that were on the common by the Ex Bowling Green Cafe?

I took my Son to Playball this afternoon and they have all disappeared!

Such a shame.

A stupid preschool question - optional summer school?

We are just about to pay a deposit on a preschool place. I have noticed that all of the schools we have looked at have a week or two of optional summer school. What is this? Is this because the summer term is usually shorter and it makes up the weeks to the roughly 12 a term? In which case why not j...

Marmalade Caterpillar V Balham Montessori

Does anyone have any thoughts either way on these two options? My gut feeling is that there probably isn't a bad pick out of the two as I think they both look great. But, would be really interested to hear any opinions.

Re: can anyone book a table?

I've been to their Las Vegas branch (not their London one yet) and was disappointed by the food quality and the cocktails as well. They are very trendy though.

Re: When to apply for Pre Prep?

Thanks for the thoughts on Nursery schools. That is really helpful. Geographically I think Marmalade Cat may be a bit far for us. But, I am going to take a close look at all the others mentioned. I didn't realize this needed to be done pre baby, so I'll be doing this now! Eaton House may be out for ...

Re: good vet??

Hi Motherbear -

We have two house cats and have used David Cuffe on Abbeville Road since they were kittens. They are lovely. The cats don't even seem to object to going to the vets!
