Re: Half term family friendly hotels

We stayed at Another Place on Ullswater with two kids (9 and 10) and our puppy (9 months). We had a great time! :)

Re: EXCELLENT CLEANING SERVICE- fully insured

I can wholeheartedly recommend Kasia and her crew. We’ve been working with them for five years and the work is always good. If we had issues, Kasia always addresses them promptly. Reliable and hardworking, a truly excellent find! 😊

Re: Ice skating Lessons in Streatham

We've done some group lessons a couple of years ago, so I can't help in terms of specific coaches, but our experience was very positive. The facility is well-maintained and everyone was professional. I highly recommend them generally--we stopped going because it's a bit of a nightmare to get there w...

Re: Donations for the Grenfell Tower Fire

The Big Give are matching donations to the Kingston and Chelsea Foundation, so if you donate might as well donate through them:

Re: Donations for the Grenfell Tower Fire

It's lovely that people want to help but I think it's very unlikely that they need further clothing donations. There's mountains of stuff at various collection centres now That's true. There are several places online where you can donate money, which is what they probably need most. Here's one that...

Re: Donations for the Grenfell Tower Fire

Right now they are saying to hold off, as they are figuring out what they need. I'll update here as soon as I have more information.

Re: Donations for the Grenfell Tower Fire

There are several places that have been set up, including the local Rugby Club and St Clements Church. We'll take the donations there and they will distribute to people who need them.

Cleaner Recommendation

Hello, If you are looking for a thorough and reliable cleaner, I have a name for you: Kasia is a Polish mum who is running a small cleaning company. I've been working with her for almost 3 years, and not once did I have a no-show. I've had two cleaners so far (the first left to go back home last sum...

Re: Mums? What about dads?

Chipping in because Annabel asked :) (haven't read everything--sorry). I agree the site can be more inclusive and perhaps slightly less pink. The fact is, if mums don't make it extremely easy for men to take care of kids, we are left with childcare responsibilities. NVN is such a tremendous resource...

Re: Changes to Honeywell School's admissions criteria

I would also fix the ridiculous situation happening now, with kids living a block from Honeywell being accepted at Belleville but not at Honeywell. Just saying. :D

Re: SAHM?

Just wanted to put in my two cents. I'm a PhD student, so both working AND not getting paid :) however, my hours are flexible and so the lion share of the housework and childcare does fall onto me. I wonder what is the reason behind your husband's wish for you to stay at home. If it's administrative...
