Re: Bringing your child to a Nursery near work in Westminster?

I loved the IDEA of bringing my sons to a nursery closer to work, in the case just off the Strand, as I like the thought of spending that commuting time together and the kids being closer by if I needed (or wanted) to drop by through the day. But the reality didn't work. Buggies at rush hour are a n...

Re: Travelling from Gatwick with micro scooter

We asked EasyJet this last year, and were told if it was bigger than hand luggage size (and a micro scooter in one piece is) we would have to check it in. Trunkis are a good idea but I found them cumbersome to carry to and from the airport. It is worth knowing that Gatwick have their own kids' buggi...

Re: semi private small room for dinner

22 North Street in Clapham Old Town has a beautiful private room downstairs. Highly recommend it for a gathering, and the food and service are pretty special too. From memory it fits 8-10 people but maybe give them a call to check.

Re: Wanted: Newborn clothes, start up kit, Babyzen Yoyo

Hi Jessica, sorry to hear you're being made redundant, nobody needs that when you're expecting a baby. Re: New in the UK: GP recommendation, please?

Hi, I've used the walk-in GP service at Grant Road at the back of Clapham Junction station on a couple of occasions when our own GP surgery was closed - and I've found them to be excellent. Both GPs I've seen were sympathetic, thorough and provided us with prescriptions and advice when needed urgent...

Re: Gym or pool with creche in SW4?

Thanks for your responses. Yes, Virgin have decided to convert the creche area into another studio, as this is 'where the demand lies.' Not sure of the logic as surely the creche is in demand during off-peak hours, and the studio space during peak time. Anyway, it will be a real loss to the area. I ...

Gym or pool with creche in SW4?

The Virgin Active in Clapham Old Town are closing their creche as of September, aaaargh! It was expensive, but my only chance to have a workout. Does anyone know of another gym or leisure centre nearby with a creche that takes babies? An hour once or twice a week is all I ask for. . . .
