Day nursery BTC/nightingale triangle

Hi all, I have looked at some of the past posts on the topic but as it appears nurseries can change in character over time, I wanted to see if anyone had any feedback / suggestions? We are having our first child next month and want the child to start part time after 6m, moving to 5 days after 12m. I...

Re: Wandsworth Council breaks Legal Agreement to help developers make even more tax exempt profits

I just saw the news on this - fantastic outcome and a huge thank you to LoveWandsworth. Especially in the face of some doubters. So is this confirmation that Wandsworth council initially allowed this unlawfully? Or I guess they could hide behind saying it was an oversight? 😂 If you could move your a...

Re: Wandsworth Council breaks Legal Agreement to help developers make even more tax exempt profits

As a local resident, I received a leaflet on Friday inviting me to an opening evening today (Monday)!!! Thanks again Wandsworth Council and McClaren. The walkway is too narrow and the traffic in and out of the site is very disruptive. It’s become a dangerous area for a number of reasons. This develo...

Re: indigo little Dentist - anyone been ?

I think these comments speak volumes. Don’t go there!!! I think I have a good nose for the smelly stuff. Went there about 3 years ago and they claimed that I have a problem where I grind my teeth and that I need to buy a mouth guard to wear at night to protect my teeth (costing hundreds of pounds). ...

Re: Not happy families at the Bolingbroke on Northcote

Not sure how this is naming and shaming. I think it was a fair point and has increased awarenesss. Sounds like handled well by Bolingbroke in the end. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Nightingale Lane Safety/Audley Retirement Village Petition!

Petal - as I said, they want to close the walkway that the council only just recently installed. There are over 150 objections to the planning and not one show of support. The deadline for objecting is TOMORROW. https://planning.wandsworth.gov.uk/WAM/showCaseFile.do?appType=planning&appNumber=20...

Re: Nightingale Lane Safety/Audley Retirement Village Petition!

I’m guessing you don’t do that walk twice a day and see the kids and elderly crossing the main road twice when they shut the walkway. Anyway, each to their own.

Re: Nightingale Lane Safety/Audley Retirement Village Petition!

Did anyone get a letter through from the local Conservative MPs on this last week? After all of the fuss above, the developers have put in plans for the walkway to be REMOVED AND for the portacabins to be extended so they can be used as marketing suites. I am gobsmacked. I think it’s totally unaccep...

Re: Very angry at removal service from Burke and Wills

I had a bad experience with them a few years ago and vowed never to use them again. Visited to quote me and miscalculated how difficult it would be to move a drinks cabinet which took two guys most of the day - they charged me more for this. I complained and it fell on deaf ears. We’re very unreason...

Re: Megan’s Balham - Worst, arrogant local restaurant experience

Someone showed me the planning application moan that they were having some time ago. Just seem like an unpleasant group overall.

Megan’s Balham - Worst, arrogant local restaurant experience

Hi, being a big foodie and forever being disappointed by the lack of good, wholesome/healthy options in the area, I was really excited that Megan’s opened in Balham (I’ve had some great food at the one on King’s Rd). I went there twice, about three weeks ago. The first time, I experienced pretty odd...

Re: Serious Scooter Mugging in Balham

I am concerned about this trend in the area. What is the best way to raise awareness and address the problem? Local MP? If the best route is identified, at least we can be better noticed in that channel.

Re: Nightingale Lane Safety/Audley Retirement Village Petition!

Why did something so inconvenient and unsafe for local residents like this happen in the first place? Have the council not got a duty to check things like this properly before the public’s safety and well-being can be compromised? Also, why not force the developers to move the huge, multi-storey por...

Re: Nightingale Lane Safety/Audley Retirement Village Petition!

I hope people get behind this letter. I’m amazed they have been allowed to erect portacabins over the pavements like they have. There are a lot of children and elderly people trying to walk on the road - it’s literally an accident waiting to happen.

Re: Northern line morning woes / Conservatives campaign / Massive rant!!!

Just thought to update from my initial post - it’s no better, if anything, worse. I’ve not seen it this bad in my 18yrs in London and in SW London. Queues streaming out of Clapham South station this morning when London is generally quieter as people have started taking holiday over Easter.
