book on puberty/relationships/sex (for children&teens)

Hello, I am looking for recommendations of books on the above subjects but there's a plethora on the market. I saw Dr Christian's book which is described as 'no nonsense' and at the same time if it talks about relationships I would expect it to go further than clinical aspects without being moralizi...

Re: Beware-moped muggings in SW area.

Stoppit: I noticed that as well, stigma, racism, social racism too? Exclusion starts at primary school, in all sorts of ways. Parents must help their child face exclusion and form healthier relationships, help them experience positive sides of the community in its wide diversity. In somes case it wo...

Re: Beware-moped muggings in SW area.

results of an unfair materialistic community. some young people give up too quickly on their future and would rather be part of a gang (criminal, religious...) than work, struggle on low wages tired of feeling 'invisible'. Sad but true.

Wandsworth Music Academy reviews?

Hi, I'm considering applying for a place at the Wandsworth Music Academy (provided by Wandsworth Music Services) for my child, who is very 'musical'. it is quite a commitment and before I make my decision, I would really appreciate feedback from current/past students. Especially on the standard of t...

Re: Husband doesn't want me to drink

I love these posts about relationships. It shows the human nature. You might want to reassure him that you still love him as much as when you met (perhaps even more with the years) and that having a drink from time to time will not do any harm, that you're not drinking to 'get drunk' or to get away ...

Re: I'm looking to set up my own website a kids treat box each month

If there was a website like this I would use it to treat friends' kids or young cousins etc, it would be such a nice idea and save me the daunting task of getting them something they like and that they haven't had yet. But I wouldn't use it for my own children just because I prefer to treat them for...

Re: Help: husband has found god

I'm not an expert but I would have a conversation as a family explaining that you and your husband have different opinions and what they are, and explaining to the children that nobody can pretend to know the truth more than another because nobody really knows. I would encourage debate about people ...

Re: Plant thief! Local lollipop lady

Frankly, when I first read the headline of this post, I thought that it would be a joke. But now I must say I find this very sad. I hope that the lollipop lady realises that a few voices aren't everyone's opinions and that despite the fact that she nicked a few flowers some people still value her wo...

Re: Plant thief! Local lollipop lady

It's so easy to ruin somebody's life when you are socially above them. It's also easy to save them from falling further. Up to you.

Re: Plant thief! Local lollipop lady

Maybe she can't afford buying flowers from the shops and it is too tempting for her.
£5 is a lot of money to spend for flowers to some people. Why don't you offer her some of your flowers and I am sure that she will never ever steal from you again.

Re: Do you read partners email/FB etc?

If it's just out of curiosity then perhaps you both need seperate passwords as it sounds like an unhealthy temptation to read someone else's personal messages or letters. You're partners but still individuals with own personal space to respect.

Re: Extra support for our 6 year old. Please help

Sorry for starting a new post - for some reason I was logged out when posting a reply to to the original thread. To the mum of a 6 year-old having trouble with school work. I think that home support is a great idea. Try to make it a team work with your son, ie agreeing with him on which days of the ...
