Re: Stepping in as class rep to sort a party 'situation' is this my role?

Yes and No. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job as Class Rep if someone is asking you to do this on their behalf.  It's great that people come to you with their issues. However you just have to back to the un-invited parent and say she needs to go to the inviting parent directly, that you canno...

Hiring Help for an afternoon

Hi everyone, I am hiring a hall for a birthday and need help serving food, and then washing up including mopping.

Does anyone know of any websites or recommendations of anyone local who I might be able to hire to help?

I have tried to google but could only see websites for long term employment.

Re: do most mums get gifts for giving birth?

My husband tries to remind me that technically I bought myself my own "push" present - a nespresso machine. I thought I would enjoy it at the time. I love it! I'm thinking when number 2 starts school/reception, I may buy my push present then.  It depends on you, your relationship, and your...

Quiet places for a drink by Clapham Junction

So my NCT moms and I are hopefully going to be meeting up near Clapham Junction station (it's now the best spot for all as some of us have moved out of London!) Can anyone recommend a nice place to meet for weekday (probably Thursday) evening drinks, possibly with food/nibbles but the main thing is,...

Re: friend's husband smacking a child should I intervene?

Yes, you must say something however it has to be done very very carefully. Firstly, it is clear you disapprove so it's unclear what you will achieve if you say anything as all you will be doing is conveying your disapproval. If you want their behaviour to change, you may need to think carefully abou...

Re: Did you receive a present for giving birth?

Yes but my other half wasn't into it.
If you want one, you may have to get it yourself.
With the first, it was a nespresso machine.
Not sure what I'll do for the second. Maybe a eufy?

Re: Husband not helping with kids despite working from home

Hi Alexi Sorry to hear you have this issue. Obviously everyone else's suggestion's are right -  about talking to your husband so he is clear what the problem is.  If however, he ignores that and doesn't think he should change, I would be tempted to just look after yourself and the children, cook an...

Re: Exercises with kids

Depends on what your twins are into. Sporty Minis ( https://www.facebook.com/sportyminis/ ) have a great session on Wednesdays and Fridays mornings. It definitely involves parents. Baking Pizza. The pizza dough comes ready made, you can get pre-shredded cheese and use boxed passata and ham slices.  ...

Re: Baby name clash - NCT group - keep or switch?

Keep the name. In our group, there were two moms with the same name, we got used to it. Then when babies were named, none in the group had the same name but there was one name that a prenatal and different post natal nct mom chose, and then the nursery rhyme class mom. At least four in the nursery h...

Re: Tips for a new working mom

Outsource as much of the boring stuff as possible. Increase your cleaning budget, have shopping delivered etc. So the time you do have as a family is not spent doing chores. Get comfortable with everything being at about 80%, home and work. If you are a perfectionist, this is the time to change. Ma...
