Re: Kids Birthday Cake

We used Uli last week for my son’s 5th - seriously delicious and reasonable - I think she is based in Streatham- couldn’t recommend her enough. https://uliscakesandtreats.co.uk/

Lambeth planning appeal success- help!!

Hi neighbours! We are most likely getting our loft plans rejected by the council and are considering an appeal- has anyone been successful in such an appeal and have you used anyone who you would recommend? Thanks in advance!

Re: Builder recomendation

Hey! We did an extension with APT (who I can see also responded) to this thread. I would recommend them, feel free to message if you want to see photos or would like to chat. They were based at the end of our road which was a huge plus too! X

Lambeth loves lofts?

Hi, We have permission to build a loft conversion under permitted development but are desperate to change it to a full loft conversion - we are however in Lambeth and it seems the council doesn’t particularly like them- A nearby end of terrace neighbour tried and they were rejected. We are a semi (n...

Re: RECOMMENDATION FOR AN ARCHITECT WHO KNOWS WELL WANDSWORTH BUILDING PERMIT REGULATION

We used Armstrong and Simmonds who seemed pretty knowledgable with Lambeth and Wandsworth planning rules. Our house was in tricky Lambeth but they got the extension through permitted development even though it was 4m rather than usual Max of 3 with something called prior approval.

Recommend my post natal PT

Just saw a post by Zara Smalley and I wanted to wholeheartedly recommend her PT sessions. I started with Zara about 5 weeks ago (from 6 weeks post natal) and have to admit I am feeling great and already seeing progress - mentally and physically. Zara has also been great with nutritional help and sup...

Re: Experience Carmen Suite ?

I had my daughter there last Monday and thought they were great. My son was born in the delivery suite 2 years, who were fab during the induction and delivery but felt once the baby was out the midwife just wanted us out of there too. The Carmen Suite were fab from start to finish.

Re: Choosing a hospital to give birth

St George's were fabulous but post birth I think they were too stretched. Had to stay an extra night because they didn't have capacity to check my son before discharging us. Good luck!

Re: Ad hoc hours nursery/nanny/childminder

Hi Diana, try the bubble babysitting app. I use it for evening babysitting but I know you can book babysitters for odd hours here and there. A lot of them on there are nannies too.

Re: Working post-baby

Like most mums I would say family and partner support are key. My family were abroad but my husband does as much as me now that I am back to work! I went back after 9 months to a promotion so thankfully all worked out. I remember thinking my first week back at work was like a vacation! Good luck x

Re: Uber stripped of London licence

My understanding of the safety issue is that Uber only have drivers that are licensed by TFL. If there are safety concerns, these drivers are still able to work through another mini cab company. I am an uber user and like with black cabs, I had both positive and negative experiences but on the whole...

Re: Help! Bad survey - damp, movement and a potentially evil tree

It's a Victorian terraced in Tooting Bec - looking at the report it talks about signs of movement due to cracks. I think the damp is solvable if they take the costs off but as most of you say, the movement is concerning. Thanks all for your advice!!!!!!!
