Re: Catholic schools in Tooting

Wow, I don’t think I’ve heard of that before. The school will have year 1 and year 2 & year 3 and 4 together in the same classes? does that mean that there will be a reduction in teachers too? How will they manage such a huge range in abilities and learning? That is such a big gap, it’s good for the...

Re: Woman who escaped kidnappers in Clapham Common after a night out launches a ‘get home safe’ app

I think that it is a fantastic idea and well done her.

The reason for the creation of the app …… horrendous! but what she did as a result of the experience. Amazing!

Re: Diversity and Community: £120 grant a month supporting social incentives and charities

Hi Daniel, I have clicked through to the link but it doesn't provide much guidance, unless I am looking in the wrong place. is there any information as to the funding criteria, if any? What type of projects are you looking to fund? What will you fund? Is there a specific organisational set up that y...

Re: Canada goose or Woolrich

I was completely unaware of the animal cruelty associated with these brands. Thank you for raising this issue.

I don't think I will be able to look at either of these jacket again with seeing the images in the link.

Re: What Does a Hairstyle Tell You?

Hi Pemberley, It's a tricky one........ If a school is going to judge a child on their hair style then do you really want your child to attend that school?  In an educational environment you would hope that the school, interviewer or decision maker is able to look past appearance and judge a child o...

Re: Henry Cavendish & Rutherford House schools

Hi Sid_seal, “The ethos and educational expectation of the pupils progress and learning is similar to a private school but not coupled with the snotty attitude of some indies. “ I am not sure why you would find this statement offensive? As I was definitely not implying that the other schools mention...

Re: Henry Cavendish & Rutherford House schools

We really love RHS! It is a new school and is growing, but we can see that some of the initial teething problems have been addressed and rectified, and is going from strength to strength.  The ethos and educational expectation of the pupils progress and learning is similar to a private school but n...

Re: Baby left in car with engine running?

Excellent and thought provoking article pinkhorse.

I don't know whether I would have done the same as the OP.

But I would have thought that the person was clearly irresponsible  and not been impressed by this lack of judgement or parenting choice.

Re: Eddie Catz - owner admits voyeurism for sexual gratification

This is actually sick - for 12 years he was doing this.

The sentence is ridiculous and the fact that he has stepped down from the business and no longer has share is cop out.

Thames Christian College

I was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences of Thames Christian College, I recently heard about this school and reviewed their website and prospectus. Which both are very impressive. The results are impressive .... unfortunately, we have missed the open mornings. I don't know anyone whose c...

Re: Independent schools and learning disabilities

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the consensus here regarding independent schools and SEND. What they say and they actual do in reality of what the implement in the school and in the classroom environment are two different things. In primary school, I do think that it is better to select a well p...

Re: Nursery funding

I am watching this thread with a keen interest aswell. I didn't know anything about this!

I thought all nurseries would offer the 30 hours. So realistically the demand will increase as the availability of spaces decreases.

Watching this thread with great interest as this is somewhere I have wanted to go to for a little while now.
