Re: School Admissions Consultation - Belleville

It seems that Belleville is now going to be an Academy, consultation is complete and the vote is in favour. They have to apply to the Department of Education before it is final. Does anyone know if the new proposed Academy is going to be sympathetic to the concerns of the local people viz a viz admi...

Re: School Admissions Consultation - Belleville

Sorry, but still a little confused about what the council passed and did not pass. Please bear with me. Is it the case that the Vines will still be an extension of Belleville (passed) but the proposed admission procedures are not as was put forward (not passed). Assuming that is correct, did anyone ...

Re: Anyone from Edinburgh? Venue help

Hi, I know Edinburgh very well and indeed, lived there for a number of years. I love the Galleries and would look at it if i were you. The castle is also stunning. The historic venues have a lot of appeal. hope this helps but in order to avoid boring others, happy to give you the lowdown in more det...

Re: School Admissions Consultation - Belleville

I think it is important to look at this precedent and all the implications. I do not believe that asking people to exclude mentioning the new school is appropriate. The point of sites like this is to have the freedom to express opinions. We should not be told that our views are not pertinent to a th...

Re: School Admissions Consultation - Belleville

Can those who are advocating the new school in Bolingbroke not see the injustice of this. Would you want that site to be an expansion of BPS (sorry BPS)? That is the precedent you are setting. It might come back to bite you.

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

I don't see how my post could be considered a threat! Question was whether posting on this site could lead to reporting and answered with a yes. Agree it is not a criminal offence but Dandelion's articles confimed it was fraudulent. I have not given any advice on tax or anything, just brought attent...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

Yes you should be afraid to be reported. If nappyvalley.net is a site for people to collude and advise on fraud then Yahoo will close it, it breaches the conditions, I believe. That is why I asked the moderator to take note.

Re: Belleville expansion plans

The office of the Schools Adjudicator can hear an objection on admission, see their site. Objections by parents who fear they will be disadvantaged by the Belleville expansion plans must be made by 31 July for 2011 admissions.See the site for the very specific type of objection that can be made and ...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

Moops, with respect, unless you know her, you don't know either!! If her friend is giving up her original home and moving in to the flat as her principal home then I agree, there is nothing wrong with that! It is just the same a buying a home there. I thought I was quite clear but obviously not. If ...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

I thought this thread had died a death and had intended to leave it and concentrate on the Belleville Thread but anxiousannie raises a question (need it be so aggressive though with all these ******s?) The answer is this. Move in or not, unless she is giving up her main residence completely, ie sell...

Re: Belleville expansion plans

Mumble, nice to see some support for those of us who live near the Forthbridge site. See Fiona Millar's blog on www.thetruthaboutourschools.com Do you know any more about the steps local council's have to go to to change admission policies? Suspect the reason this is set up as annex is in order to a...

Re: friend wants to use my address for primary school admission

I think this will be my last post on this subject. I want to leave it with this. I do not think it is "legal". The admissions policy is dictated by where one lives and I think it is obvious that that means permanent residence, not a short term let entered into solely to gain an advantage. ...

Re: How to find the right au pair?

just one note of caution regarding someone changing family! Used au pairs when my daughter was young but she is all grown now and any advice on agencies is out of date other than that I found agencies the best route. I did take someone who wanted to change family and she was a nightmare! Lazy spoilt...
